I built a very simple jukebox based on cadis's design seen here.

http://www.adisweb.com/jukebox/index.html

Only in the bottom compartment of mine I have my Mobo and my power switch (subwoofer sits on the floor next to it), so I can just open it up and turn it on. It seems to work out nicely.

Since I do not have a receiver I had to find the best sounding computer speakers out there, and the Klipsch 2.1 pro media center is actually a great sounding set of speakers, and the sub vibrates my whole apartment.

To shut down the machine I use probably the most stable jukebox software I have tried out (all the rest I was able to crash) called Nordbeat.. in Nordbeat you can use the powerdown function that will turn off the computer. It works extremely well.

So mine is very simple to operate, the sound is very high quality, It takes up little space, and is easy to get to if I need to fix something.

Hey ian when did you switch to nordbeat? Even you website says you use freebox? I didn't know you had problems with it crashing out on shut down?

I use FREEBOX and don't have any issues with it.  All I did was to make a housing to mount my touchscreen monitor to the wall.  My computer is in another room with the output going into my stereo.  I adjust the volume from FREEBOX
I b**ch. People listen!!

I think you are getting me confused with cadis..and his website...

I found freebox to not like my music collection (even though I went through every mp3 and tagged it correctly), i was easily able to make it crash by randomly pressing on the screen, and sliding the search bar backa nd forth. and I really didn't like how I had to set it up... but it's look is top notch, and I really did like the software, I am glad I contributed to freebox, but I haven't had any issues with nordbeat, it was easy, and highly customizable.

Ah so you paid up for it then... You should come back and try the latest version 4.0.7 I will be releasing 4.0.8 once the beta testers are done with it. If you had mentioned your bugs over on the forums i could have sorted them... Unless you are happy with what you are using now.

The jukebox you all are referring to is Cadis's Juke.. not mine, I have not posted pics of mine...

This is the craziest thread, ever... First I unintentionally hijacked the thread, then stole candis's identity..... I got a lot accomplished here.. lol.
