Speakers on control panel?
« on: May 15, 2008, 10:03:01 am »
I'm planning on mounting  my speakers on my control pane l(I love the feeling of sound vibrations). I was wondering however what potential problems could arise from doing this. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

are you talking about on the top surface of your control panel, where the buttons and sticks are?  or like below it on the front panel or something?

Pro: bass feedback
Cons: awkward to mount, may foul on installed controls, may look ugly depending on your cab/panel design.

Yes I'm talking about on the top surface of the control panel.

Let me just tell ya, any half-decent subwoofer can almost vibrate your whole cabinet to pieces. You really don't need to mount your speakers on the CP to feel the sound.

^ Agreed.

Mounting above is easier and safer (not nice to drive your hand through a speaker in a heated battle!)

Depending on the speakers you plan to use, you're also going to have to deal with magnets...which don't mix well with electronic equipment.

it's your cabinet, do what you want, but i wouldn't reccomend installing speakers in the top of your control panel... it will look goofy, and take up alot of valuable space that could be better used for more controls.
