Mala moving last played Mame game to top of list

First, many thanks to the people on this wonderful forum. I'm in awe of the volumes of knowledge and experience here, not to mention the eagerness to help others. I'm about 85% done with the arcade cabinet of my dreams and I owe the participants of this forum a debt of gratitude.

For some reason, when I exit a Mame game to go back to the Mala frontend, the game that I just exited will be moved to the top of the game list. If I quit Mala and restart, they will still be on top. It will stay there until I refresh the main game list. If I play 5 different games, those 5 games will be listed at the top of the list. This only happens with Mame, not on any of the other emulators I have set up. I'm using the Zebra layout, with the tree structure. I have scoured the internet and this board for answers and haven't seen this mentioned anywhere.

... I'm sure the answer to this is embarrassingly simple, but I'm coming up short right now!

I'm not sure if this is it because I don't use tree view *and* I've not used this option, but are you using the "most played game list":

Ha! Under options, the "use most played game list" was unchecked, but when I looked under the "games" tab and highlighted the "all games" gamelist, they were being sorted by "play count" and when I changed to "name" it was fixed!

I don't even remember seeing this before. No more drinking while configuring!!!

Well I've learned something else.  I've never noticed that sort option.  At least I got you in the right neighborhood.
