Lcd Topgun Driver Problem
« on: April 09, 2008, 01:12:34 am »
No matter what I do to attempt to delete Smog's Guncon2PC xp suite driver, it won't go away. I mean that whenever I connect an EMS LCD Topgun the computer ALWAYS reads it as a "Guncon2" device then begins looking for the files to install smog's Guncon2PC driver and will not even see any other driver. If I install the EMS LCD Topgun Drivers and then plug in the topgun, the comp won't even see that driver, but only smog's driver, and then continue to attempt to find Smog's driver. Please, how do I fix this problem?

Smogs driver leaves a lot of crap in the registry when you uninstall it. I've had the same problem. In the end the only way I found to get rid of it all completely was to do a system re-install. Maybe somebody else has a better solution.

After i typed this out that was exactly what I had thought of, tg I have a registry cleaner :D

I'm going to find out today because i let my registry cleaner run all night on a full scan to eliminate any possible traces, I will report when I complete another attempt at setting up the LCD Topgun.

I found out my problem was much simpler and that besides the fact that i totally cleaned out the registry (412 problems) that didn't fix the usb port. But i discovered this lcd topgun was installed with the EMS drivers already on the bottom usb port, so prob solved. I guess this means that when it is already installed on another port it will not work on another port when attempting to reinstall.
