Specific Game Zip File Help
« on: March 30, 2008, 07:20:19 am »
I want to put only certain games into a seperate computer so I'd like to find out what zip files from the mame roms are needed. In other words, I don't want to copy every Zip file from my huge folder of roms, I want a certain game/rom by copying only the zip files it requires to play that game. Basically I need to find out what zip files a certain game/rom uses. How can I find this out?

With mame 32 plus v0.119u1 it shows a list of the rom files when a rom is selected but it doesnt say what zip file they are located in. Some games have these rom files spread out through various zip files which is what makes this difficult to copy cause if I don't copy all the required zip files the game simply wont run. So copying the main zip file with the games NAME doesn't always work.

Go to MAWS and search for the game title.  It will bring up the roms that the game uses and which zip files they would be contained in.
