Custom CP Artwork
« on: May 21, 2003, 08:10:09 am »
Is there anyone here that would do custom control panel artwork?  I am willing to pay for the right job.  I am looking for something similar to GSXRMovistar's control panel.

Email me at arcade@sshado.com or respond here, I always check the boards too.

Thanks,

Sshado

Did you get any help with your cp? I'd like to offer to help but I hardly have any time for my project at the moment, let alone someone elses.

Anyhow good luck and post your results when done.

Unfortunately, no, I did not get any help.   ::)

I really do want to do it my self, but I am not artistic at all.  Of course, I am not a carpenter either, but my cabinet turned out nicely.

I can't decide if I want to do laminate, paint, or just go ahead and try a graphic with lexen on top.

I was going to paint with American Accents - make it stone paint and do a few overcoats of polyurethane, but I am not sure how the texture would feel and if it would be durable.

Then, I saw my friends control panel with laminate and the surface feels great.

And then again, I saw your (GSXRMovistar) control panel graphic and I thought it was awesome.

Here is a few reasons why I am afraid to attempt doing the graphic:

 - I am not really talented artistically
 - I have no idea how to attach the lexen to the panel (controls?)
 - I have no idea how to size the graphic right
 - I only have MS Paint to draw with

I also can't decide what to do as far as matching my cabinet?  My sides are Oak with Stain, the top and back are black, the t-molding is black, the front is a black make it stone look.  The sides and bottom of the control panel will be a dark grey make it stone look.

Now, what to do with the top???   ???
