Wish list: Galaga, Pacman, Pooyan, Star Wars cockpit, Gauntlet, Tron

And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.

If only 20 were sold, what does that say about the fun factor of the game?

Fair play to anyone who is fortunate enough to own a rarity, but even is this were legit, even the most avid collector would be hard-pressed to part with half a mill to own it, especially with faking so easy:

1) Take 1 old atari cart
2) print a label off on sticky paper
3) stick it on
4)For added accuracy, hack the insides with a flashed chip using a downloaded rom
5) Tag on an outlandish story of how you acquired it and put on a ridiculous price tag.

Did you guys happen to notice that there is a best offer option? This guy knows what he is doing. Generate enough exposure with a ridiculous price and chances are he is going to get the offer he is looking for.

There's a thread over at AtariAge that essentially states he has no immediate plans to sell. I didn't read past the 2nd page having lost interest.

Actually, if you read through his thread on the Atari forums, he has no plans at all to sell the game.  He put the INSANELY high bid amount on there in case some retard actually decided like throwing that much money away, but he has admitted to not wanting to sell the game.  By accepting these "offers", he is able to get an idea of how much money he could get for the game if he absolutely had to sell it.  It's a way to find its sale value without actually selling it.  Of course, if someone comes by and gives him an offer he can't refuse, he'll sell it.

Sort of, it is scaled based on the starting bid. It tops out after a certain amount though.

LOL.  You would think for a half a mill he would make a decent ad.  That  "tHANK yOU" at the end is classic.

So it's a "one of kind" yet "...20 were made".

I see.  ::)

As far as best offers go...he should accept the first brain offered him.

It's the name of his eBay store. I can't tell you why it looks like the logo was created fifteen years ago. :dunno

If only 20 were sold, what does that say about the fun factor of the game?

Nothing.  There are quite a few 2600 games like that - tiny companies that went under before their games hit the market.  Or just after.  Or they had no distributor and sold in only one or two local stores.  Or were mail order only.  Or 15 other valid reasons.

I think E-Bay's listing fee structure just recently changed and made it so that if the item doesn't sell, you don't have to pay any fees.
