Recently started using one on an early prototype panel, so usage is limited. Being a USB HID device means its easy to get started using it. Configuration is all done using its inputs and provided screen - whereas some can take updates over the wire. It's very configurable, easy to use, has the shift functionality, etc. Bottom line:
1) Yes, i like it a lot (nothing to compare it to however)
2) Easy to set up - and yeah, read the manual- it will help explain the menu system, etc. There's nothing complicated here, but the manual has some useful info.
3) haven't tried auto-fire or macro's etc yet
