Any experience with 'Honest Pierre's' in MD?
« on: December 20, 2007, 08:46:07 am »
Anyone had any experience with Honest Pierre's Games and Collectibles in Columbia, Maryland? I just saw small signs on the road in the way to work today and checked their website (http://www.honestpierres.com/shop.html) which is sparse.  Wanted to find out if anyone's dealt with them before prior to finding out what they had, etc.  Would basically be looking for a cabinet only or something lower price.

I dunno... but that 2 Player control panel looks totally unplayable for unlucky Player 2. Buttons to the left of the joystick?!  :banghead:

Any business that's got "Honest" in their name, usually isn't.

That's what I noticed too.  Thought I was seeing things for a minute...  I'd stay away from them and woudl take down all their signs for probably operating illegally.  heh.  Or go write "DIS" in front of all their names.

I saw that smaller game they're selling (the bartop/pedestal one) at a game show and actually thought it was kind of slick. I wouldn't buy it, but I wouldn't mind copying it!  ;)

Looks like from the list on the screen of the games and the description hes selling put together cabs with those illegal multicade boards. I don't see it being anywhere near worth 1900 bucks myself. Even the guys on ebay that are pullin this fast one are not charging that much.

Necro,
You mentioned that you just wanted the cabinet or something cheap.  I live in Columbia also and built mine myself.  A few sheets of wood from the home depot, a few power tools and couple of weekends was all that was required.  It was fun and I have the satisfaction of knowing that I built it myself.  I live in a townhouse with no real work area so I built it on my front sidewalk.  It turned into a communit project after a while with the neighbors asking how progress was going  :)
