U360 orientation?
« on: December 20, 2007, 02:29:09 pm »
Does it matter how I install my Ultimarc 360s on my control panel? Is there a "top" and "bottom" or does it not matter because of the programmable nature of these sticks?

The joystick plate isn't square so I'd like to install it in a "portrait" manner rather that "landscape". Is this fine to do?

If you look closely at the pcb board on the bottom of your 360, it is marked which side is top. portrait is fine but you would need to remove the board and reattach after rotating it 90 degrees.
To make it easy both the usb and button connectors should be closest to you, or furthest away from the monitor when mounted.

Yes... I can see the "top" mark now you mention it. With that set to top the USB connector is bottom-left and the nine pin connector is bottom right.

And yes I will be turning the plate through 90 degrees now that I know which it top. Saves some space across the width of my panel now.  Thanks!   :D
