Cleaning LEXAN - Is there a preferred way?
« on: July 03, 2007, 12:38:52 pm »
Hi -

I am in the final stages of completing my arcade cabinet, and I can't believe how difficult it is to clean fingerprints off my lexan control panel.   There don't seem to be any other posts here about this (or anywhere else on the web, except for vendors of various types of magical products), but I am hoping someone can tell me how to clean the lexan without scratching it or discoloring it.

I was also planning to use lexan for my bezel cover, but now I am thinking maybe it would be better to use ¼" glass.

Any thoughts?

I usually just use a damp/wet cotton washcloth with a small amount of mild soap.  Then dry it with a dry cotton washcloth/towel.

Wipe it with a newborn kitten.  Only the females, though, and only the straight females.  No lesbians.

Does the color matter? Wet or dry? Will a persian work better? C'mon, we NEED the info!!

How can we figure out which ones are lesbians when kitty p0rn is illegal?  :dunno I'm not going to prison just so I can have clean plexi!

I hear steel wool is really good at making finger prints disappear.

But only use water...seriously now, you don't want a scratched and discolored cover.

Windex and other such cleaners will eventually etch the plexi/lexan.

A mild soap and water are probably best.
