CPS3 Emulator - any wrapper?
« on: July 01, 2007, 11:21:15 am »
The CPS3 emulator runs fine and dandy on my cab, with the likes of streetfighter 3 running at full speed. Now that CPS3 emulation is almost complete it is time to think about implementing this on my cab more formally via MAMEWAH. Anyone know of any decent wrapper solution or command line launch for the CPS3 emulator?

I'm sure Howard's keypress simulator would work http://dragonking.arcadecontrols.com/static.php?page=wrapperdownload

Have you tried MAME yet? Or are you trying to get a speed bump out of a dedicated emulator?

I'm only vaguely following it all since I don't care about the games themselves, but my understanding is that if you can run CPS2 at full speed in MAME CPS3 is pretty close.

It actually already runs from the command line!
Eg  "emulator.exe sfiii" will launch Streetfighter 3!
I now have the CPS3 games on my cab via mamewah!
Point to note, the emulator wont work if you do not have your cab PC in 32 color depth.

This may sound like a stupid question, but is it possible to patch an older version with the CPS3 compatability in 116u3?

I'm currently using a hi-def patched 108.

How exactly would I go about doing this?

Im running MAMEwah ver 1.62b13 and I dont know how to intergrate the dos prompt you have above.

Thanks!

hey why don't u get mame++.118u4 it will for sure run the cps3 games at one hundred percent. Also with this u can play all ur games online with others, and i mean all of ur games, espicailly street fighter 3s. One thing to note, this emulator dosent have to have the roms in its roms directory. You just have to piont it to the rom directory(options-directories). This means that u can have your roms in u regular mame directory, then when u play online just do it via mame++. U can also play ur regular mame online va kaillera client, but i haven't seen anyone play with the regular mame.

Check your files, you must have a rom and a chd.

There is actually a version of 3s that is a Japanese NO-CD version that doesn't require a .chd

hey why don't u get mame++.118u4 it will for sure run the cps3 games at one hundred percent.
Because:

A) Im running CHD'less (Which MAME doesnt do)

and

B) Im on a lean PC and need all the juice I can get out of the Nebula based emu, on MAME the games would chug.
