Joystick Screws?

How could I mount my joysticks so the bolts don't show?  I see some control panels with them showing and some that don't have them showing, I really don't wont giant metal things stickin out of my cp.

T-Nuts work dandy for that - just route out a little indent for the top of the t-nut.

I use T-Nuts, as well.  I just cut out a little circle in the CP top (or route, as DrumAnBass said) so the T-Nuts are flush, then run bolts up into them through the joystick mounting holes on the bottom of the CP.  It seems to be the simplest way to seamlessly mount Happ joysticks in wood.

Do the T nuts work OK in MDF as well as wood?   Thinking MDF does not hold screws as well as wood so what about the T nuts?

I have mine in MDF.  Worked well so far.  You have the force of gravity on your side, so I guess it wouldn't be too likely that the T-Nuts would come loose.

I cut a counsink on a drill bit and made the holes just a tad smaller then the screw I was using so it still threads tight but I just have mine screwed in and have not had any problems at all and I too use mdf but I use 3/4" mdf with formica.

Definitely pinches the wood inbetween.  That's what the teeth are there for, to bite into the wood, hold in, and prevent spinning.
