Step by Step for a n00b

Can someone point to some threads or locations of a step by step how to build a Dreamcast Joystick? Starting from supplies needed, to wood-working a small frame, to cutting, solder points, etc. I'm comfortable with just about anything, I just need some guidance as to where and how.

Trying to find something going step-by-step that's specific to Dreamcast might be tough but you should be able to find info on both hacking controllers and then building a desktop/stand-alone joystick base. Most desktop/stand-alone joysticks I've seen built are for Playstation, but with the exception of the pad you're hacking it's the same.

I've never hacked a DC pad myself. I usually use a Pelican RealArcade PS2 joystick run through a DC Innovation PS->DC converter. The RealArcade has been modded to use a Happ Super joystick and standard Happ buttons. Works great. I also have adapters to use it on GC/Xbox and USB for PC. I'm guessing the GC adapter will also let me use it on the Wii I want to get later this year. It's definitely the most flexible solution. I also have the official Agetec Stick but hardly ever use it.
