I don't think the people around here would do that, and the guy selling those monitors on eBay sells a ton of other arcade stuff, too...

Ironically, it was one of those auctions that led me to the deal!  I was planning to bid, and I plugged the modem number into Google to find the specs and ran into the BSC website... so we actually owe the auctioner some thanks for indirectly leading us to the deal of the century!  :)

hope everyone will start posting pics of theirs once they have them going!!!

Here's mine going strong. It'll be replacing an old Popeye monitor that took hours to configure in AdvMame's AdvCFG. This one took less than five minutes - almost every resolution showed up perfectly, just required a little centering.
I set it up as a PC Monitor, first of all I plugged it straight into my cab using the Popeye arcade monitor settings. It got normal VGA resolutions perfectly, but when MONARC kicked in it didn't know what was going on.

This monitor rocks!

Wells-Gardner's site says these don't come with power cords.  Did you have to create one, or did it come with a cord after all?

For those that missed out on this deal, remember he still has 31 of the 21" PixelTouch monitors available for $75!  Those are used, but he's having his techs check their condition for us.  I started a new thread at http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=6566 ; I'll post more details in that thread as I discover them.

I got mine yesterday; it looks brand new as well.  Haven't had time to plug it in, though...

The documentation is not the most user-friendly I've seen, though... :)

WOW! I didn't order mine until late last friday afternoon, and got mine today! Fast!

Hooked it up to my PC at 800x600...looks pretty damn good. Only thing was games ran like crap and were "squished," but i am sure this is because i just hooked it up to my regular PC with a geForce card that is running at a high reefresh rate, and this monitor runs at like 31mhz refresh@640x680, don't know what it is at 800x600. I will have to figure that all out.

I will post picks next week i hope. gotta gut my cab, and put it all together!!!

Yippie! ;D

also, is it just me or are these monitors actually just 18"? I removed my 19" arcade monitor, and it is a lot bigger than this one. The width of this new monitor is just 17"...

when i looked up this model # on wells-gardner, it came up as an 18" monitor.

I've seen thismonitor listed in their docs as both an 18" and a 19" monitor.  The official specification sheet calls it a 19" monitor.

I think you are correct. It is a 18" monitor. Unless I am wrong...the part # tells you...WGM1891 . All the documentation I can find on the WG site about these montiors says they are 18" as well.

Mine has about an 18" viewable area, which is consistent with a 19" PC monitor.

oh boy.. here we go again =P

see this thread actual viewable area of arcade monitors

Arcade monitors and TV's are supposedly report actual viewing area as teh "size" diagonally of the screen (i.e. 19" equals 19" viewable)

PC monitors are a little more dubious in that say... a 21" monitor might have around a 19+" viewable area....

So... that begs the question, would an arcade monitor that was really a PC monitor be measured/advertised like a PC monitor or like an arcade monitor =P

(ps I think these are really 18" monitors  --  at least that's my guess, does it matter, it's still awesome, wish I got one!)

This would explain why different documents within Wells-Gardner itself disagree on its size.  Whoever came up with the model number was obviously used to arcade specs, and wrote it as an 18", but since it is technically a PC monitor, it's official spec sheet shows it as a 19".

This does bring up an interesting point, though!  I was about to buy a Happs 19" bezel for it, but since that bezel would be designed for an arcade 19" and not a PC 19", it would be too big for this monitor, wouldn't it?

Yes that bezel would be too big. My cab has a bezel for the 19" arcade monitor, it doesnt work. I also had to make custom brackets for this new monitor. Damn, I was hoping the new one would mount just like the arcade one.

Anyway, I believe this is really an 18" monitor, and the viewing area is actually more like 17"! It's kinda small. Especially when i had both of my monitors side by side.

I am still happy with it, but wont be long until I need to upgrade to a 25" !!! ;D

Well, the viewable image on the new monitor is about the same (actually slightly bigger) than my PC 19" monitor, so it looks like my handmade bezel will have to stay in place.  Maybe I can reinforce it with something to keep it straight...
