Wow, I'd be afraid to touch that control panel. Looks it would fall off simply from touching it. Who's idea was it to add a drawer rail(is that what its called) to hold it up?

it is actually quite solid. it just uses the rollers to move out there then you lock it into place above the control panel. there is really not much weight on the rollers at all.

Dirt, I like that arcade idea. Nice way to hide it if an arcade doesn't quite fit your living room decor. Patrick, your pygmy arcade is way cool. Plans, plans!

That could be.  Sure looks small.  Hmm...

Sure, I could mention how it has a bumper sticker for a marquee, or that it's based on a ridiculous theme, or how unstable the control panel must be on those casters, or how cruddy the coin door is, or how 1980's the knotty pine look is, or even how the bezel looks like contruction paper.

If I were mean, I would also ask what kind of man builds a cabinet out of a dresser? I might mention something about a man who's wife wears the pants and wouldn't let him have an arcade so he has to sneak one in his house.

I might even suggest that the theme is an overcompensation and trying to be manly. Possibly like an arcade cabinet in drag.

If I were not such a nice person - I'd ask if it makes that sound transformers made when it switches from armoire to cabinet. It's more than meets the eye.

Fortunately for you, I'm not a mean person.

Yeah, that was funny, but it's hardly a fair comparison though. There is quite a gap between on the one hand a pretty well built, actually completed cab and on the other hand a "machine" consisting of a crate wearing a skirt with a loose monitor standing next to it on some boxes, containing no computer and still someone claims it's worth $1500 or even $3000. The latter is way more funny and actually quite lame.

It's not the guys taste that is up for scrutiny here, but more his lazyness and lameness.

The argument that others ask ridiculous prices too just doesn't hold. It's still lame to ask way to much for something even if others do it too. This is basically a pile of spare parts and worth at most a few hundred dollars.

What I personally find OFFENSIVE to myself and the community is the statement:

"Machine's like this sell for over $3,000 on Ebay!"

What kind of ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow--- statement is that?!?   I've yet to see even a KICKASS custom built cabinet go for "over $3,000".   Sure,  some NEW cabinets that INCLUDE A FRIGGIN COMPUTER go for $2,999...but even THAT isn't "Over $3,000".

THAT is what I find most hilarious...aside from the fishtank stand construction...and the rest of this monstrocity....

I saw this listing a while ago. It doesn't qualify as a "cabinet" anyways. More along the lines of a "setup".
His reasoning is flawed, in that that he's referring to entire complete MAME machine packages which have LISTED for over $3000.00 on Ebay (listed mind you, not necessarily SOLD).

Furthermore, he's trying to equate his own offerings to these aforementioned listings, even though it doesn't even closely, in any means of the term,  resmble resemble what he's referencing. What he was trying to do, and rather poorly at that, was pulling a "bait and hook".
Unfortunately for him, many of our more knowledgable members here caught wind of this "pinky ring car salesman" tripe he was spewing, and called him to the mat on it. Simple as that.

You can't have an open chassis monitor on a stool of Duplo blocks, and call that a cabinet. Not even a showcase cabinet. What he has is more appropriately labeled as "unfinished"
