Your lighted buttons looked so nice and I first thought to myself only one led ??? I tried lighting up Happ buttons on my Punch-Out project with 12v 4 led lights shooting up at an angle outside the buttons, they do work, but the pitfalls of having to angle them just so and using big leafswitch brackets and Ugh! I gave up that route. I was going to get Novagems, but after reading this thread I figured I'd try the ButtonBlaster leds since they look so nice on your cp. I got them today, soldered (first ever soldering), modified the leafswitch brackets and tested them with a 3v battery and they look great. Gonna hook it up tomorrow.  I still can't believe how one led firing from the bottom lights the buttons so well!

So I' wanted to say thanks for posting your method!   I saved a lot of money going this route since I already had the translucents and all, although I'm definately gonna try the Novagems on my next project, they must be crazy bright.

I just need to replace the cabinet t-molding, mount the TV inside the cabinet, and I'm pretty much finished. It's crazy that this project is almost at its end. Thanks to everybody that has helped me so far.

Here's the marquee, the colors get washed by the camera, it looks great in person.

Running on my 27" Samsung TV through component connection.

Close up look at the component quality:

Note: The resolution I'm running everything is in 640x432. It's the PERFECT resolution for both vertical and horizontal games. 640x480 caused cropping due to overscan.

Is it me or do you get the uneasy feeling that Donatello is looking at you?

Nice job!

Jeff AMN, what video card are you using to output component video? Also, what front-end are you using for this thing?

BTW, the cab looks awesome... but I thought you were going to use blue t-molding on one side... not that it looks anything other than great with red on both sides :P

I'm using a Radeon 9600 and a DVI to component adapter to use the TV's component inputs. I actually paid for Maximus Arcade (I know, I know) for the ease of use. It was between that, Atomic FE, and Mamewah, but MA won out in the end.

I haven't changed the t-molding on the cab yet, but it will be blue on one side. It looks great on the control panel with the two colors of molding.

Here I am installing brackets for the monitor shelf. My dog Bowser is helping me with the alignment...

And here's a (fuzzy) shot of my wife playing some Street Fighter II. Just a few more odds and ends and we're ready to call it finished. The screen image washed out in the pic, but it's vibrant and rich in person.

Great looking cabinet. Can I ask where you got the DVI to component adapter as I am looking to use a TV in my MAME cabinet.

I think this is what you are looking for:

Regarding:

Yeah, I was shocked to see the edge of the plexi light up like that. It goes all the way around and it looks pretty dang cool. The t-molding will look sharp, but I wish there was a way to show off that glowing edge effect.
