Whats the go with those Super Joy nes consoles??Why do they have 6 or more buttons on them???Didnt the nes only have 2 buttons on the controller and  start/menu buttons??What would the other buttons be there for if its just nes games on them???Anyone used one???Ive been thinking of hacking one onto an arcade CP....would this work??THANKS

The nes joystick? I think the extra buttons are turbo buttons.

Ok so you wouldnt need to wire the extra buttons up to an arcade CP if you just wanted to play them as originals then??

Not unless you want an independent turbo buttons for A and B.  If you plan on using it as an in-cab NES, you're going to have to replace the 60-pin connector with a 72-pin connector or buy an adapter.  Those things will only play Japanese Famicom games right out of the box.

Yeah Ive heard that....still they do come with a heap of games...or are they all rubbish nes clones???Im making a Namco 5 in 1 Ms pacman cab and was thinking of throwing one of the super joys in with it...or would it just be a waste of time??

Has numerous different features. I had 2 when I was a little kid.

The knobs above "turbo" are to adjust the rate of fire if the turbo buttons are engaged.
Joystick and B, A are normal (unless turbo is on)
On the right side, there is a switch between player 1 and 2 (so you only need one controller on mario style 2p games)
Then select/start are normal
"Slow" on the bottom is a turbo start button that slowwwwssss the game down by pushing start really fast.

He is. He's talking about the superjoy III, a pirate gamepad. I used to haveone sitting around somewhere. At the last family reunion, I hooked it up to a GBA with TV adaptor. Took 10 AA's total, and I could barely see it, but it was worth it.

But yeah, you'll want to hook up an adaptor or rewire the thing so you have a new adaptor. Speaking of that, I have absolutely no electronics knowledge of any sort, is there any material that could be used to secure the adaptor in without mucking up the electronics? Hot glue? Super glue? Anything?

Well, I'm assuming that it's got the same gamelist as mine, so it's got some good games, just repeated ad nauseum.

Of course that list says that Lunar Pool was mislabled as Lunar Ball, but that's incorrect, as the Japanese release was Lunar Ball.  No mislabel there.

But yeah, there's some good games on there, especially if it's going in a cab.  Still, I'd suggest that you leave yourself the option of plugging in a NES game.  Oh, and unless you know how to build your own Vaus controller, I wouldn't bother with Arkanoid.  After the first few levels, it's not worth playing with a pad.

Last time I saw it one it was no different from the common gamepad, so it'd be pretty easy.

Yeah, the only difference is that the first player controllers are on the "console" itself.  I need to hack another controller port into mine for the first player, because the default controls suck.  The Genesis-style second player pad is pretty decent.

I saw something funny on eBay or some other online shop the other day.  The Super Joy can run off of a battery pack (just a cartridge that you have to put your batteries in) that fits into the spot normally reserved for memory cards and rumble packs on the N64.  Someone was selling the packs, not having a clue what they were for.  I'm not sure if recognizing it made me a connoisseur or a dork. :dunno
