so I buy this psp, here is the original thread.

I get it and its a 2.6 psp which doesnt run homebrews or emulators. now the seller is telling me to send it back and he will send me a 1.5 psp. now how am I supposed to trust this guy ?? he already tried ripping me off. how about I send the psp back to him and he never returns to this site and never replies my PM ??

now I told him, HE should send the 1.5 first then I make sure everything works and I will gladly send his 2.6 back to him. and he is telling he wont this. If not just give me a refund and we can call it even but he says "NO WAY I AM GIVING YOU A REFUND".

he is the one sold it as a 1.5 and its NOT a 1.5 so he should be the one responsible for either a refund or a replacement.

WHO SHOULD SEND THE PSP FIRST ??

If neither of you can agree. You can pay a 3rd party to handle the deal. Ship it to a trusted 3rd party and send payment to a trusted 3rd party.

oceancube,you have 2 opitions here.

- you send the 1.5 psp first, I test it out and make sure it works, THEN I will send the other one back.

- refund my $$ in full AND the cost to send the psp back because its your fault and you misadvertized your item. you sold it as a 1.5 and its not.

I've had ENOUGH of this crap ! so the grow up already and do either one of the 2 above. I would have trusted you with this but you already showed signs of dishonesty and I am not taking any more chances. What can I POSSIBLY do after I ship this one out and you decide not to ever return to this site ??

You dealt with this through paypal. so you have them to fall back on (which isn't bulletproof, but its' something)

If neither of you want to ship it out first, cross ship with tracking, and just be done with it. Agree to ship it on a certain day in a certain way (Wednesday by Priority, or whatever) and finish the deal.

If you don't want to do that either SNAAKE, then a 3rd party is a good idea. Find a good trader somewhere near and/or between the two of you and finish the trade that way. You should each pay for the shipping though if you do this. If this makes you feel much safer about the trade, you should be willing to spend an extra $5 to get what you want.

File a paypal grievence and withdraw it if you get your refund.

This guy told you it was a 1.5 and it wasn't.

I would be royally ticked off as well.

yeah I already filed a claim. oceancube doesnt wanna do this on my terms then I guess we dont have a deal. I am being as nice as possible but I simply cant trust the guy. I mean...what if DO get a psp then it doesnt work and he will tell me something like "but it worked when I had it" just like how he is telling me "it was a 1.5 psp"

PayPal is going to make you send your PSP back to him before he sends the replacement one to you, anyway. Not quite sure what you hope to gain by doing it that way-now all you'll do is make it harder to file a claim if the second one he sends is faulty.

Just downgrade the PSP to 1.5 yourself? I beleive there are downgraders for up to fw 2.71 as long as the motherboard isn't a TA-082 revision.

exactly. If you want a refund from PayPal, you MUST ship it back first and have proof it was delivered.

I still think working out a cross trade or mediated trade is a better idea.

I don't think bringing this out into a public forum is being "as nice as possible". I think if he was a real crook, he would have never sent you the PSP. Painting yourself as a victim when you have a PSP in hand (that you could resell if you had to) isn't really a victim if you compare it to all those scammed by the Harpal incident.

From what I can tell, Oceancube is trying to work with you. To resolve this incident, I would say you may have to shell out a few more bucks for shipping. I don't think you should have to pay for the shipping either, but I'd rather pay a bit more on shipping then deal with filing a claim with Paypal.

Yes he was wrong when he said what the firmware was, but he did send you a unit. I'd give him the opportunity to fix it and if you don't trust him to fix it - pay to send it to a 3rd party and hope he's willing to do the same.

I think you both should send them at the same time an to insure this happens you both need to hire a guy with a digital camera to follow you to the post office. Once you both give the Post office clerk the package, have the guy snap your picture... also be sure to be holding the current newspaper with the front page clearly showing... and whoever doesn't show up to the post office on the decided day is the real crook.....

Oceancube sounds like he is trying to fix the problem & he did send you a psp. Paypal will require you to return it before they issue a refund.

okay snake, i tried to make it easy on us both and it didn't work now i have hold on paypal, just remember i tried to help both of us out and pls lmk how to post a picture on here so i can show you that i have another working psp that reads 1.5 firmware on it... dont really know what i did really wrong to you for you not to trust me, i messed up sending you a brand new psp and i got the right one and you decided to put me as a liar and thieft, besides all you told me was "I WANT THE PSP YOU HAVE ONLY I WILL PAY $200.00 FOR IT, THEN YOU ASKED FOR 1 GB CARD AS WELL AND I AGREED, now i have to prove that i sent you the psp and card to paypal and your gonna be stuck with a 3.0 psp that you wanna hack into!!!!! like i said i tried to work with you i gave you my hm. number and all and you still insist, then you wanna pm me and start using bad language, that will not work buddy..... again to all im really sorry this happened but i tried and i know i look like a bad guy but im really not, pls all ppl ive dealt with please back me up on this one!!!!

I'm sorry but i would not agree to a cross ship if a hold has been placed on the funds, you need to release the funds back to the seller or return the unit first, the buyer has the advantage with paypal esp. if you paid with a credit card. In any business transaction the buyer has the most advantages. Just return the unit & keep your tracking info to show paypal so you do not lose your money

OC-Just hold the 1.5 PSP and prove to PayPal that you sent him the first one. They'll either force him to send it back or return your money to your account. At this point, I would suggest neither of you do anything until you hear from PayPal.

As an aside, filing the claim and escalating it was a ---smurfy--- thing to do when OC was obviously trying to work with you-you got all impatient and ---smurfy--- and now ---fouled up beyond all recognition--- things up for everyone involved. Oh, and thing about not closing the claim means you need to send the original one back and THEN he sends out the new one.

what does the function of different version psps has anything to do with the transction ?? Amazing how you dont mention anything about sending out the WRONG VERSION PSP. Basically what you did was false advertized your item, refuse to give me a refund, now you are playing dumb and writing BS stories to paypal.

also, the ear piece only has the left side and you didnt mention anything about that on your original thread. See why I cant trust you with this. You sent a broken earbud that only has 1 side and its gonna cost me EVEN more money to buy a new one. WHO PAYS FOR THE NEW EAR PIECE ??

I guess we'll have to go with the 3rd party thing, I will send out the 2.6 psp to a trusted 3rd party and cost of shipping to send it to oceancube and you do the same. fair enough ?? any taker on the trusted 3rd party ?

well...after the nice but 100% BS story you sent paypal I am sure they wont tell you to send another psp thats for sure

and EVEN if paypal goes in my favor I still have to send the psp first and I dont know if I can trust you after the crap you pulled already. And you refuse to give me a refund so ONLY way to solve this is by sending it to a trusted 3rd party seller. Look for a trusted 3rd party and get this over with already. I will ask some other trusted regulars around here and see if anyone's willing to do this.

ok I just checked paypal and the dispute is gone. they dont understand about the different version of psp..especially after the BS story you wrote them. they are telling me I got the psp and thats it.

ok I just checked paypal and the dispute is gone. they dont understand about the different version of psp..
so ONLY opition we have here is trusted 3rd party.

That is what burns me up about PAYPAL, I put my opinion in your orgiinal post, but anyway...... It's a big scam unless you check that little box that says, You will pay them X- amount of dollars if the product is not to your liking. A big Scam!!

Sorry I cannot be a third party, too many liability issues there...plus paypal will not recognize anyone from this board as a legit third party...I could be snaakes or oceancubes buddy(I'm not) but I would use paypal to work this out but I think you are going to be disappointed please see below....
1. ocean probably did make a honest mistake but due to the exchanges that happened that's not going to work out now.
2. snaakes unless you paid with a credit card I think you are fighting a losing battle, you have a new psp & 1 gig card with no dead pixels or scratches it sounds like I would just chalk it up to life & downgrade it myself.
3. If you paid with a credit card(which one should always do with paypal you can do a chargeback it will cost ocean $10.00 & you will have to send it all back(make sure you do if you do not then your setting yourself up for legal issues.)
4. Ocean states his account is locked its not locked its in the negative which unless he puts money in the account will stay in the negative so even if paypal sides with you they will not be able to recover the funds anyway...

Here is what paypal is going to do
5. for 30 days nothing paypal wants you too to hash it out & solve this.
6. after 30 days snaake paypal will ask you to take the psp to a repair business(good luck finding one local & get a estimate) which most business will tell you this unit is fine with the latest firmware, downgrading is a grey matter area even if you do find one that will give you a labor estimate it will prob. cost you $25.00, plus your time & gas.
7. paypal will ask you to fax this estimate to them 10 more days gone...
8. once paypal receives the fax if you can get the estimate(if you do not paypal will side with ocean) you will have to wait up to another 30 days, we are now in November...
9. paypal will either reward you $25.00 to fix the unit(your out your estimate fee) or paypal will require you to ship the unit back(your still out your $25.00 plus other expenses)
10. If you paid with credit card you can do a chargeback but your taking a chance of losing your paypal account, paypal does not like chargebacks(do not know if this matter to you)

So bottom line you have a nice psp I assume with no dead pixels(I had to return 4 to walmart to get one free of dead pixels & scratches) keep it & downgrade it or sell it on eBay but then you are taking a chance of starting this mess over again

I did use a credit card and can charge back but I dont wanna start more crap..enough is enough already. I would have downgraded this myself already but its not downgradable. I checked the model # and everything.

so what do you wanna do oceancube ??

I did business with him multiple times before and everything went smooth, he is also on xbox scene and has good hearware feedbacks.

oceancube, PM dweebs0r your full address and send him the 1.5 psp and the funds to send the psp to me and I will do the same. cross ship both PSPs tomorrow and post the tracking # here. CONFIRM you are shipping it tomorrow so I will have the package ready and have it out tomorrow. any other questions, PM me.

I will post pics of both PSPs here when I recieve them.

I'll then pack up and send the 1.5 to Snaake and the 2.6 to Oceancube.

I will not assume any liability here, I am just trying to help both of you get this matter resolved by being a third party.

I think Snaake got a hothead a little too quick. You need to give someone the benefit of the doubt Snaake. Oceancube could score some points as a seller (and a person) if he took the high road and made the switch, but if I were him... I'd ask you to send the PSP to first.

You should've told him what version you wanted Snaake. I realize he told the person before you what version it had, and you assumed he would send you the same PSP. Oceancube could've also asked what version, but I place the blame mostly on Snaake and if I was in his shoes, I would offer to send it back and pay for shipping and chalk it up as a dumb mistake on my part.

why would I have to "ASSUME" when he already said he is selling a 1.5 psp. you need the stop getting involved in pointless argument here because CLEARLY its OC's fault for sending the wrong version psp in the first place. Its not like he was selling a psp and forgot to mentioned what version it was and I "ASSUMED" it was a 1.5, THEN it would be a my fault and I wouldnt even bother asking him for a refund or exhange.

And I still have a torn earbud with only left side.

this is as bad as say I was selling a computer. My selling thread says its a 5 ghz computer but I choose to send a crappy one then when the buyers ask me about it, I will just say "you didnt ask me which computer you wanted..so I just sent a $hitty one cuz I felt like it"
