Forgot to add that you might want to apply an automotive clear coat to at least the sides if you paint them.  The clear coat will help protect your hard work and add a bit of the sheen that the orginal had.  Your auto paint store should be able to help you find the right one.

Finally, wear a mask or respirator when you do the paint.  The auto primer is two-component with the add-in being an adhesive.  You don't want to breathe that.  Better safe...
