D9500 Question and Advice

Haven't spoken for a long time but since I suppose it's time to buy a monitor, I decided to get back to the posting:

I've been looking at the WG D9500 and I have a couple of questions if anyone could answer them:

1) What's the difference between the WGE1995-H0TS07Q and the WGE1995-M2TS01E?  I read the spec sheets and must have overlooked something.  I want to know because the measurements are slightly different.

2) Any more opinions on the D9500 besides what I've already seen in the other threads I found in a search?

I have this monitor and asked wells the same questions.   Here's what I was told:

The H0 model is designed for a wood cabinet and is setup for an unusual .7 volt video input; the M2 model is designed for a metal cabinet and is setup for a more typical 1-5 volt video input.

In other words, get the M2 model.  It's what I bought, and it's what will work nativly with a pc and regular power.  The measurements on the spec sheets seem to measure different things in a couple different places.  I noticed this as well during my initial research. 

When I ordered, no one had even heard of the thing and I pretty much went in blind.  That said, I am happy with the purchase even though I haven't had a chance to do a lot of playing on my monitor as I haven't completed my cabinet yet.

One more question: how does this monitor degauss?  I ask because I'm working on making a rotating monitor setup.  Does it degauss automatically on power-up or do I have to use the OSD to access it manually?  I checked the docs and they were quite vague.

As far as I know, no monitors just automatically degauss themselves (except on startup).  So yes, you'll have to use the OSD to degauss.  That said, the pcb for controlling that is tethered to a pretty long cable so you could have it sitting somewhere convenient. 

I'm doing a rotating monitor setup myself.  Kinda wish everything could autodetect me turning the monitor on its side.

Yeah that's what I meant, actually.  "On startup", I assumed you meant that if you turn the monitor off and then back on again, it'll be degaussed. 

I ask because I was kicking around a 'low-tech' solution to automatically degauss during rotation: basically something on the rotation pushes a switch (or even the 'reset' button on a power strip) while it's turning and releases it when it's near the 'stop point'.  So, essentially, the monitor turns off at the beginning of rotation and turns back on at the end.   How feasible this is (or if it'll even work) is still unknown.  I don't have the monitor yet and I haven't had time to sketch it out.

monitor only degaus on COLD startup not after the monitor is on and if you turn it off, then on again, the degaus does not activate. Monitor must sit at least 20 min off to have a COLD start to degaus again. So you still need to MANUALLY degaus it when rotating it unless you wait 20 min then play
