nasty spinner mouse hack help(pics included)
« on: May 04, 2006, 07:06:35 pm »
I am working on the nasty spinner mod,  my question is do I need this whole mouse pcb, will it still work if I cut some off.  If so where do I cut

I'm no pcb expert, but, you see, on the back side of that mouse pcb, those little lines that look like roads connecting different points?  You sever those, you sever the circuit.

My suggestion, find a different mouse that has a half PCB vs. the full pcb with a hole like that.

If your in the mood to get some soldering practice you could head down to Radioshack and get a blank PCB to transplant all the components to.  Just make sure you know what connects to what before you go and start removing things!
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

no thanks, too much work for me.  I am just looking for a simple way to make a spinner and it really is getting frustrating, I will probably use the HD spinner with an optical, that seems to be the easiest.  I wonder if a piece of PVC will work instead of the galvanized shown here.

pvc should work....can always paint roughly it or something to give it some texture...but pipe is better just because of the weight of it...you need something with weight to have a good spin...
