Disassembling a Suzo stick
« on: January 18, 2006, 03:16:20 pm »
Hello all,

I'm trying to replace the spring on this Suzo stick.
But I'm having trouble removing that little disc-shaped thingie that holds the spring in place at the bottom of the stick itself.

When I did this with my X-Arcade stick, I simply pressed down slightly and moved the disc with a small screwdriver.

But on the Suzo it's really, really stuck. I don't know how to remove it without actually destroying the disc (and possibly more).

Anyone here seasoned with taking apart Suzo sticks?

Thanks,

Grasshopper

Unfortunately, it's very difficult without a special tool like this.

Hmm yeah, looks like I will need to get some of those. :x

Do those pliers work like inverted? The opposite if normal ones (you press and the 'claws' expand)?

Any more surprises waiting for me when I finally get this stick open? :D

Lars, you got it, this is indeed how they work.

At least the type Suzo uses are MUCH easier to handle than the "regular" E-clips, as long as you have the tool  ::)
You definitly need one of those to do it the "easy" way....take a look at this thread: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=41571.0

Good luck !
