I also use an LCD in my cab - and for my workstation at home, and at work. CRT's are power hogs, generate too much heat, are too heavy, take up too much space, and I'm not a big fan of all that radiation blowing in my face. No thanks!
The image quality is beautiful on my display. I run MAME and contemporary games like Counterstrike Source, Fear, etc and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also watch DVD's on it as well - it has a very quick response time, vibrant colors, excellent brightness\contrast, and I don't have any complaints.
I think most of these guys that slam LCD's haven't seen or really used a newer display. First gen LCD panels sucked, but that is ancient history. Also, don't expect to buy a $150 LCD and get the same quality as a good CRT. You do have to open the wallet to get something comparable. For the price of a 9200, you can get an excellent 20" LCD - which is big enough for a cab. 27" displays are just too damn big, IMO...
