I had the same problem when I used to collect games for my Atari 800. I didn't have anything on a hard drive at the time, it was all floppies. SO, I numbered each disk and got a database program. The database program allowed me to type any info I wanted about a specific file, into sortable fields, including file name, disk number, size, date, program name, etc. and also had a field where I could type anything else I wanted like a description of the game, my own rating system, whatever. To locate anything, I could use the handy search feature and search on any of the fields, or even pull up every record that had the word "dungeon" in the description fields. This would solve your problem. I don't know if you can find a shareware database program or not.
