Any XBOX games exist for DDR pad which is not dancing/music?
« on: November 16, 2005, 06:21:50 pm »
Does anyone know whether there are any interactive XBOX games which exist which interface with a DDR pad other than the typical "dancing-music" ones?

I am looking for something involving jumping, running, etc... which my kids could play using the DDR pad rather than trying to perform dance moves......

I dont think any other games are designed to work with the DDR pads except for DDR games.

I'm almost positive that the latest version of DDR include non dance variations to mix it up a bit....and for general exercise. Here's the info from "ultramix"....this looks like you can even edit the moves to get it to do what you want....

Features & Specifications

Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix supplies an intense dance experience of competition and choreography.
The hit franchise Dance Dance Revolution arrives on the Xbox in an all-new game with fresh songs, licensed music and new game modes. Designed especially for the Xbox, the revolution goes online with Xbox Live support, offering a host of new downloadable features. With robust options, modes and great music, Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix will be a treat for any fan of the series.

Features:

    * Groove to all-new songs, including exclusive songs for the U.S., licensed songs and dance hits
    * Xbox Live support lets players download new songs and dance steps, compete online and more
    * Play new game modes that have never appeared in any Dance Dance Revolution game before
    * Special Work Out mode allows you to have fun getting in shape while tracking the calories you burn
    * Edit mode lets you customize dance steps for every song, develop player-specific routines and trade dance patterns with friends
    * Combine fun, competition, choreography and exercise for an all-around entertainment experience
Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?

I may be wrong... but I thought dance pads were more or less standard controllers (just with REALLY BIG buttons :D)

"Dancing Stage Fusion" (PS2) had a few non-dancing minigames in it.
In my opinion, they just don't seem to work. Quick left-right-left-right stepping to make a character move works a little, but the jumping and shooting at the same time is just too much. It's fun for a minute or two and then you grab a controller or use the pad just for dancing.
