What was wrong with the Ultimates?  I ask because that's what I ordered as they told me they were out of Competitions.  Thankfully, they goofed and sent me 2 competitions.  I thought they didn't have any?  Whatever.  :)

Yeah, so just out of curiosity, how come the Ults are so bad?

It's mostly a feel thing, and most people don't think they feel "right" i.e. like the sticks they used when they played...

Also they don't seem to be made as rugged.

Here's a comparison http://www.oscarcontrols.com/joycompare/joyreview1.shtml of 3 joys from happs... *shrug*

They are not that bad..
its all about how you mount the joystick and everything..must get the right height and its all good.

A clear view of the ultimate joystick(i bought for $5 so who cares ;D).

one of my joystick has ultimate in there with hard spring..its not bad at all...BUT...if you compare..i would say...

best to worse

P360
supers
comp
ultimate(nothing really wrong but other joysticks are just better).

Welpers, I installed them and played on them last night and all I can say is WOW!  They play amazingly.  I was concerned at first because i've heard other people say they don't like them because you can't feel the "corners"..  Let me tell you, that if you've ever had experience with fighting games, this is no problem at all with the p360's.

Also, to anyone who's  interested, I got my 5v and gnd from the I-PAC, which worked fine.  I used an old dual pronged lead from a motherboard LED light or power switch, etc. and used one lead for each joystick, so I didnt have to try and solder wires to those little leads on the I-PAC.

Deathmonk, I'm curious what the resistance is and how long of a "throw" the 360s have.  I'd assume they feel much like the 49-ways (which just use a rubber grommet).  The 49-ways have a longer throw, resulting in more "play" which is fine for analog games...but not for fighting games.  If you have played a Bliz cab, can you compare the feel to the 360's?

P360's are really tight..  The throw is about half of that of the ultimates..  They feel great when playing fighting games.  I have played on a blitz cab before, I just don't remember what they feel like exactly.

i played on blitz cabs too..and i had p360's..its different.(i dont know how to put it in words but you get the pictures right?)..

p360's are exactly what you have..(supers,comp or the shaft that comes with if you dont upgrade and buy the whole package)except you dont "FEEL" anything..optic sensors...I would order some upgrades but I am WAYYYYY TOOOO lazy to open my panel and and install new stuff..whatever supers are still cool and everything(doesnt bother me ;D).
Deatchmonk,I never actually bought the "WHOLE" p360 package(only upgrade) and they give you like a "SMOOTHER" shaft then regular super joystick right(or you kept your ultimate shafts and bought the upgrades?) ???

I bought the whole deal... The shaft actually is a lot like the ultimates (which is the only thing I liked about the ultimates)...  The only difference I see is that they may be a hair shorter and there are these wierd circle indentions along the shaft.. ???

Dunno, really..  I've heard they're just a little looser, but same idea.

I'm sure you could probably adjust the spring if you wanted a tighter feel right?  Order a heavier spring?

I'm more concerned with the optics... is it as accurate as the p360? Fighting games, pac-man, side-scroller beat em ups? hehe

Oscar did a great rightup on all the different happs joysticks

ultimates suck compared to the others... cheaper all around.

Compititions are great, have real corners (good for some games... you know when your going diagonal).

Supers are great, have round corners.  Good for lots of others games.

P360s are usually compititions I think.  But they don't use microswitchs.  Sold state
