I found this cab on a website... just screamming to be bought back to life.

Just wire it without the dance pads and leave it somewhere. Those fruity DDR players will put quarters in then become very confused.

Yep...... A Jukebox without a doubt
With Killer Subs like that, its crying out too pump some tunes.

I'm just looking at Virtual Music Jukebox..... looks pretty good... any suggestions??

I'm also going to need one mother of a screen.
But with the speakers and neon tubes already in place I reckon I'm off too a good start.

nullbOy ..... sorry.. I will need those for directional selection.
There were no boards inside, just a transformer and 3 5/12 volt power supplys.
But I will keep you posted if I change my mind.

I've been playing with VMJ over the weekend ( Awesome Program ).
I need to boost the sound, so I've pulled the amp out of my HiFi setup... (the missus is starting to scream already)

My trusty old amp pumps out the sound fine, so I'll need to find another amp,
but at least this saves me going down the 12 volt DC track.

I've got my eye on a 27" TVPC on ebay... 27inch with a VGA input.
It would be perfect..... so heres hoping someone doesn't bid over me.

I've also spotted a compaq EVO slimline PC on ebay... they look pretty small yet feature packed..... might just be the thing.

I placed my 21" computer screen in to show the size of this cab..... it looks like a mini screen dwarfed in this cab.... but at least its starting to look the par.

One of the sub woofer perspex covers and metal surounds were missing when I picked up the cab... so i'l spend the next few days making some of those.

I pickup the PCTV, I scored thru ebay........ The inbuilt vga connection is a the best feature i've seen on a tv yet. No hassles... just plug it in an bingo... 27 inches of pure bliss.

Sample pic shows it connected to my pc...... and it fits in the cabinet with 2mm to spare. It's as if it was custom made.

I've started to make the missing speaker surround, because it is made from metal it was a bit more work than I thought it was going to be.
Anyway I finally got it cut and nows its ready for a coat of black paint.

Next I will start to tackle the perspex covers for the speakers... so I'm off to Bunnings ( Australia's version of Home Depot )

Well, Bunnings was great fun, as usual I came home with a tonne of crap I really didn't need....lol

I was looking for some plexi to replace a missing speaker cover, the cab came with a cover on the left side, but missing on the right side.
There is a metal grill on the top cone of the speaker, but the metal grill is missing off the sub woofer on both sides. like the one pictured below.

I was on the hunt for some plexi, and some sort of drain covers to use as

Where did you get that cabinet from? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to say in public. The full size DDR cabs are impossible to find on their own. All I've seen in a "gutted" cabinet is the single player versions... and they suck. ;)

BRAND NEW Buttons like you want would cost you $7 each from Happ's plus shipping.

International shipping could cost you upwards of $30 alone if you use Speedpost. Oh sure, you could go parcel post... and wait 4-8 WEEKS for them to arrive. :)

Have you searched Google or eBay for them? Sometimes others will have Happ parts for slightly less than Happ's cost.

Cool project  makin me want to build a jukebox player now.  That is a sweet TV.  could you post a link to the ebay auction or manufacturers website.  who makes it and whats the model number? how much was it?  What resolution can it do? I would like to put a better 27" TV in my cabinet.  does it also have input for the yellow white and red cables also?

The Make and model is CE PCTV  that's it!
I couldn't find any info on the net anywhere, The guy I bought it off was the second owner, and he had no knowledge either.
It appears to be a dumb monitor mounted in a TV surround with a tuner and av componet packed inside.
Either way it's a beauty.. but if it ever breaks down I think I could probably kiss it goodbye.

I couldn't find anything... so I bought it sight unseen, but it sure made life easier.

I was sort of hoping too have had some feedback on jukebox software to use by now.  I was going along the lines of VMJ, however SK Jukebox looks very similar.... but won't need as many operator buttons... so I may play with that for a while.

Well... I havent really been doing much, but here's the update.

I installed my trusty old audio amp and computer. I couldn't believe how easy they slotted in. This also gave me a chance to connect the speakers and do a test drive.

Well, my first question was answered...yep plenty of audio grunt. Well enough to keep the neighbours complaining...lol

Next I will finish the dressing plates on the speaker fronts, and start to think about how I will do the control panel.

Keep rockin.......

There is a huge amount of wrong terminologies used around here when discussing this material. Words like perspex are used generically when discussing plastic that is clear but for the purest they are vastly different.

Try using the material sold as Polycarbonate instead. Brand names for this stuff I have seen in Australia are Lexan, Macralon and Safeguard.

I guarantee the Mythbusters don't stand in front of Perspex when are are blowing cool stuff up.....

lol... thanks bones

I'm sure Adam and Jamie have perspex plates in there heads anyway ( Well, maybe not Jamie, but Adam must have.

As it was... I went to a sign guy ( friend ) to ask him how to bend it. He laughed when I show him my attempt, then he had some pretty green off cuts laying around. So CP panel is coming along.

Keen to know...
