LED wiring question

In my mind I think this should work but the paranoia of blowing a motherboard causes me to ask... Will this wiring set up work?  Is this basically a parallel circuit even though the LED leads are connected to a common point?

nothing new, I'm using them for a Knievel lighted button mod. Once I saw The NeonMame I just haven't been the same since.

Its fine..   Why the 12v rail, though?  They'd be better off on the 5v rail, imo, since hardly anything else will be using it..

Not like LEDs draw an appreciable amount of power..

12 volts will also be running the neon speaker rings and coin door lights so I thought I'd just run the LEDs off of that feed as well.

I'm not sure why anyone bothers with the resistor setup. You can buy pre-made 12v LEDs at most automotive stores. A 3 pack is under 5 bucks and they're very bright.
