That's fine, bearing in mind that you will of course not get stereo sound just mono through both and that the power from the board may not be enough to drive both speakers properly ( this probably won't be a problem though ).

Is this for a MAME machine or an arcade game?

Are you not getting enough sound out of the one speaker? Because adding a second isn't going to help much. It's still mono sound.

That hook up should work, but is totally pointless.
What game board are you running? It should have onboard volume.

Just remember that hooking up two speakers in parallel like you have drawn will halve the resistance of the total circuit and according to ohms law will require twice the amps.  If they are 8 ohm speakers or greater I wouldn't worry about it, but if they are 4 ohms you might have problems if your amp isn't designed to run at a net of 2 ohms.

(2) 8 ohm speakers wired in parallel will be a net of 4 ohms.
(2) 8 ohm speakers wired in series will be a net of 16 ohms.

I not quite sure what you are going to gain as the output will still be mono.

can you show me a diagram how to hook up 2 speaker in series, honestly i dont know crap about parallel or series is about, that diagram i drew is just out of my head, i didnt know that diagram is what you called parallel..the whole point of this thread is i want better sound..just like you would like to listen to radio with 2 speaker instead one..2 is always better than 1...

How is two better than one unless the speakers are spaced apart? Like having mono sound come out of a speaker on one side of the room, and then out of another speaker on the other side WILL sound better, yes, but if both speakers are close together and right in front of you, no. It will sound the same.

Sounds like maybe you need more amplification, or a better quality speaker.

so what kind of quality im gonna get if i get more amplication? louder?

Amplification can provide a clearer sound depending on the speaker, but the biggest thing amplification will do for you is make it louder. The only thing you'll get from a second speaker would be louder sound. However, without an increase in amplification to support the second speaker, you risk losing volume as well as sound clarity.

In any event, replacing the speaker you have with a better one or amplifying it more (or both) is a better option than adding a second if you only have mono sound.

The volume increase gained from a second speaker works on a logarithmic scale, but the volume increase gained from increasing the amplification is more directly proportional. In other words, you get more bang for your buck by making your one speaker better than by adding a second one.

ive already answer a few posts above..i be more specific in this post
1. i  want better sound (if its pointless to have two speakers running mono, then i guess i might let it go)
2. and like every other arcade cab, they all have 2 speakers, so i want two speakers on my cab..and like you listening to music on your pc or cd players..they all have 2 speakers, if one speaker went dead..you can still hear music, but you felt like miss the sound of the other speaker...

Well, the default JAMMA standard is for mono (as you already know), but I believe there's been some revisions to the standard to support 2 speakers. And many JAMMA boards do in fact support this stereo output. So, if you wired in the second speaker to the correct pin on the JAMMA edge connector, then any JAMMA board that has on-board stereo through this output will work. But then any jamma board which is only mono will produce sound in only one speaker.

Then to further complicate matters some boards, like my Galaga 88 output MONO through the edge connector, but supports stereo through seperate connectors on the circuit board which I would have to wire up to a 2nd speaker...

It's all very confusing isn't it?!

the only board i have is Aero Fighters, i only use it for testing..right now im reconstruct my cab and turn it into Jamma and MVS cab, so it can play both jamma and neo geo games, and i need to put in one more speaker anyway, cause MVS used stereo..

its the same harness, but different output, i think pin L is for left speaker, and pin 10 is for right speaker
