I picked up a set for free from a local radio installation place in town (Joes Car Audio). They had a whole bin of them and let me pick what I wanted....Can't beat the price....

I was about to say the same thing.

My old roommate worked at a high-end car stereo shop and would toss several speaker grills in the trash each day if customers didnt want them. Check with any place that does custom car audio and see if they have any you can snag.

I have seen some really nice grill screens made from those black wire mesh waste paper baskets.  The person took a pair of tin snips to the baskets and cut out his grills.

I made some speaker grills from MDF, painted them black and then covered them with black speaker fabric.

I used a hot glue gun to hold down the fabric on the back of the grills which worked well.

They look a little rough from the rear but once in place they almost look classy. Just a thought....

I did the same thing but I covered the whole section between the marquee and the glass.  I made a small frame and stapled speaker fabric to it.  Worked real slick and covered the whole area nicely.

I used 3 brads to nail it in place and it seems very secure.  I will try to post a couple pictures tonight.

Here you go.  The frame was built with 1/4" square molding that I found at Home Depot.  Painted it black then nailed the square together.
