Mr. C.  We can mirror these downloads if you would like, or I'll be happy to host them altogether.  Let me know.

Beautiful work!

Good job dude  ;D One question? Is the year supposed to be where it is on the track listing screen or is that a bug?

Ok here is the latest version with the standard fink skins included and all the other skins removed. The fink skins are now the default skins, you will need to download the diner as an additional skin if you want that and trust me you will...

This also fixes the bugs MCCOY and NINJA had with the album covers. Check the Whats New file for a full list of changes.

I intentionally put it lower, but I'm not sure if it'll stay there as things progress. I wanted a solution that avoids the gap between the three text lines on the tracklisting page (ie: Artist/Album/Year) - as the Album text is two lines long the only way I could do that was to seperate the year out and indent it more. It looks better when the 'Add to Queue', etc buttons are on the screen. Most people won't have year tags anyhow, that's another reason I wanted to put it elsewhere.

That's my thought behind it anyhow.

Yeah, they should probably go on your server, since mine is in my home/office closet and the line is capped at 30K upload.  :)
I'll update my posting with the new links, as soon as they're available.

Use the same filenames (I guess only the Diner skin will be seperate), because as the skins are updated (ie: as freebox is updated), I'll change the revision number on the .zip files, so we know what's what.

In the search screen the by artist and by title are the wrong war around. The button labels, i changed it in the ones i included in the setup.exe just thought i would let you know.

Tomorrow, maybe. heh...I'm too tired tonight. For example, I originally thought you were asking me to check out the Freebase forum and I was like, "hey man, I don't *do* drugs!   :police:

The Diners skin has been mirrored here:

http://www.freeboxjukebox.com/files/skins/fink50sDiner-v1698.zip

Also, the other skins are now included in the default install if that hasn't already been mentioned.

Barcrest,

I'm also getting this error in the config program that was mentioned earlier. After generating a Library and trying to remove an album I also get this error:

Bug: in the config program i can't remove albums from the database. i get "runtime error '5': invalid procedure call or argument" and the program closes.

Mainly to test out the 1024, and bugs you can find related to 1024 usage let me know. The config remove album issue is still outstanding i am aware.
EDIT:
Now saves an loads back into fullscreen on 1024.
EDIT2:
The included skins should now resize.

p3 766mhz with 256 mb ram (Win 98SE)

I was running this app for the longest time with a version from back november.  Despite minor glitches it was working perfectly for my needs.

I upgraded to the latest version and now the app will not run on my system.
Here is the error i get each time i try to start the app after recompiling my database of "records"

"Runtime Error '372'
Failed to load 'lvButtons_H' from . Your version may be outdated. Make sure you are using the control that was provided with your application.

I have another juke running win xp and it works great.  Is this a wacky win 98 glitch?  Any thoughts?

Thanks!!!

It might be, i can't remeber excatly when i switched over to the new button control. However i have been using this button control for a while now and you are the first person to report this error. I don't have win 98 to test it on but i am assuming that is the problem. My P700 runs XP and the Juke fine.

1024 ran error free for me. Looks great.  The Random button is not the proper size.  There is a white box in the lower right hand corner.  The credit text doesn't have its own box.  The song lists on 'four album view' are spaced all wrong.  Other than that, it looks freakin' great!

Dude there hasn't been a box for the credit txt for a while now LOL... The white box issue i was aware of but i'm not sure what is causing that. The random button i will take a look at tonight if i get chance..

I asume the other stuff i fixed up worked ok for you? RE: Covers?

looking real nice....

and I've had a couple of "runtime overflows" when switching skins, but not sure exactly what as I can't always repeat it....

Also - should I be seeing the text at the top/bottom of each album? it flashes up when I chage screen but is then covered by the album art.....

see attached, not text with albums....

Barcrest,

With the same idea in mind as the decade option (I don't have all the years included in the ID3 Tag), would there be a way to choose a genre, and have only that genre be included in the album covers showing for browsing. The option would be something like Rock, Jazz, Country, ..., All (to get all albums showing again). I have over 1000 albums now, so it would be nice to separate searching album covers via genre. Thanks

Ok, you are not the only person to mis-understand this. The decades function works as follows.

There is a histroy folder with each months top 10 selling singles from the uk charts contained within (Browse to see the structure, and change the files to a u.s. chart or whatever). It doesn't use the YEAR tag but instead does an intelligent search against your database offering you the chance to play any of these songs if you have them in your database. Also showing an album cover you can click to jump to that album.

As for GENRE support, i will be adding this but it's a big job so it will be coming just not in the next five minutes.

Right now back to work and find out why the proxy server is beeping it's head off at me.... ;)

just dropping some bugs report.... When you click options and don't enter a password and then click one of the side tabs it goes to the side tabe section but Password entering box is still there. Also it would be nice if you choose not to have side tab options that the buttons you do choose to have on the side would reorganize to the top? Also down button under the Album song list covers up half the last song title at the bottom of the list.

Almost perfect keep going man!!!

Password box now clears if you click another button.

The track list and the down button is a skin issue this will be fixed when i update the skin tool to allow the positioning of each track line.

Thanks for the feedback as always, Check over our forum for a quicker response.

Ok if you use freebox then your help is required urgently.

http://www.freeboxjukebox.com/forum/index.php?topic=87.0

That is a link to the test engine i have posted up... Called test4.zip, just unzip it to your freebox folder and try it. I really need to know if the search is quick enough on low end systems and also the forward browsing (Back button still broke)....

Thanks in advance, BB.

Barcrest,

Hello! I just started my jukebox software search and I stumbled across freebox. So far it's awesome. All the years of collecting MP3's and not organizing them caught up with me as I spent a few days re-ripping all my CD's. Not to mention I ripped a lot of CD's over once I found out freebox didn't like the WMA files (yeah, I know... RTFM).

I have a 15" Touchscreen and I'm building a jukebox. I've been testing out your software by playing a bunch of songs and flipping around between all the options. Me and my fiance are considering a jukebox instead of a DJ at are wedding this september. Anyhow, I've had a couple generic "Freebox has committed an error and needs to shutdown - send an error report?" type messages. I'm using a spare machine running a AMD sempron and running XPsp2, and was curious if you thought I should try it on a Intel machine. I will go ahead and start loading another machine. We used the jukebox last night for 5 hours and had to reload the freebox software twice.

Thanks for a great peice of software. It's the best touchscreen software I've used.

He just did a major change last week, so he has had to literally recode almost everything.  Check out the forum at www.freeboxjukebox.com, and post anything you find.  Most of the time he already knows the bugs, but that is a great place to cross reference and give feedback.

Mccoy - I see your on both forums. I've been through the support posts. Perhaps I'll create a post on both forums. In the meantime, I'm going to load it up on another PC and see how it performs.
