WTB: Multi-Pac marquee
« on: June 30, 2005, 06:32:09 pm »
I'm looking for a Multi-Pac marquee, but I don't know where to go about finding one. It wasn't ever really a commercial game so they weren't mass-produced. Anybody know where to find one? Anybody got one they want to sell?

I wanted to bump this one. Anybody got a lead? I don't even need a marquee if I can get the artwork. I'll get one printed.

I thought I saw one before, but can't remember where.  May have been a limited run since it wasn't mass produced, but I forget who made it.

In any case, maybe you could ask someone in the artwork forum to make it for you.  The characters are stock and are already done, all that really needs to be done is the border and two pellets which those guys could literally do it in like 5 minutes.  Or you could learn to do it yourself?

In any case, it'd be a nice addition to the Artwork Library.

The only example of the marquee I could find online was a small fuzzy jpg. It's enough for a decent view, but probably, but I don't know if it would be suitable for vectorizing. Someone with more talent than me could probably whip one up pretty easily, though. I don't have the know-how or the software to do it.

I posted a new thread int the artwork forum to vectorize the image I found, but you bring up a good point that the characters on the marquee are all vectorized already. Someone would just need to make the frame and stuff. I think I'll add that to my artwork post.

If we can get a good marquee made (however it's done), it'll make a great addition to the library.

I think Clay did these, didn't he ?

I checked his site and see no mention of them, but maybe drop him an e-mail.

Or I could be completely wrong ...

Cheers.

I'm pertty sure they're not made anymore because of licensing reasons.

Apparently he had some (6 or so) left as of a year ago. Might be worth a shot in the dark.

Some guy who runs a board about arcade controls  was looking for one a few years back ... maybe he found one.

The PDF version of the manual as shown on KLOV has a pretty decent version of the marquee graphics ... might be better for vectorizing, should you want to extract it.

Cheers.

why not just design one similar and have it printed. probably cost the same $$ and you'll get one you actually want.

i'm getting ready to put one together for my multipac but haven't started on it yet.

k.

Well I posted a thread in the Artwork forum to see if anyone there would be interested in making one. I just dont' have that kind of talent or software. Here's the link, though.

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,39583.0.html

I would actually like mine to have a white background rather than the regular black so it'll fit better into an original Pac Man machine. So it would be slightly unique.

Still, regardless of whether I use it or not, an original black Multi-Pac marquee should exist in the vector art library.
