Did you order the Happ ps2 interface from Happ's website?

No, it's just a curiosity thing. They're typically known for being overpriced so I was curious about what you paid. Do you know what plug your Ultimarc trackball has? I think they're offered with 2 different plug types.

While I haven't tried to mate the Happs PS2/USB adapter with an Ultimarc trackball, the  Happs PS2/USB adapter requires replacing the optic boards on the Happ trackball (e.g. is not just wiring up to the regular harness).

I guess the first question is whether the optic boards for the adapter will fit in your Ultimarc trackball.

Cheers.

no.. but i'll take one when i get home... i wired everything up last night... but i got nothing... i thought it was self explanatory... a 5v and ground for each axis as well as two other wires per.... then the incoming 5v and ground... but it didn't do anything when i pugged it in... also is the ipac supposed to come with a connector to plug into the pins where the leds plug into? cause i didn't get that either..

Nope, but OSCAR was selling a pre-hacked mouse for around $9.00.  He's not taking orders due to vacation/day-job, but you could shoot him an E-mail and see if he still has any in stock, if you're not in a hurry.

Nope.  Andy sells a harness with LED's for like $15.

Wiring instructions are here: http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac2.html  Easiest way to attach terminals are either motherboard wires from an old PC case, CD Audio cables, or USB header connectors from a motherboard USB expansion port adapter.

You aren't trying to hook the Trackball to the I-PAC/2, are you?  That won't work.  For the LED's, you get 5v from the pin header as shown on the Ultimarc site and transfer that to the LED's using CD audio cables, or whatnot.

Okay, the diagram I referenced should get you there (or you could just use one of the HD cables from the PC power supply).

i tried that... i think... i found something online that said the hd power cable had four cables 12v ground and power and 5v ground and power.... yellow and red respectively.... but i hooked it up and still got nothing... maybe i have something wired wrong on the interface... i now wish i would've just spent the extra money for the happ ball ready to plug in.... :-\   .... i've scoured the internet for a tutorial on this conversion but can't find anything....
