Crown illuminated microswitch pushbuttons pre-orders
« on: June 10, 2005, 04:52:11 am »
I am ordering a limited number of Crown screw on illuminated microswitch pushbuttons, with a bulb (12V) that lights up the top of the button.  If you are interested the price is $3.55 per button.  These are standard size and will fit most predrilled panels.  Here are some pictures:

Thats a Deco microswitch (predominant Korean brand).  If there is enough interest I'll put in a big order in the future.

Those are neat. How much bigger are they than a standard button?
They look huge.

How about a picture of them mounted and lit so we can decide on colors.

Thanks,

It would be a range depending on how many I order and how much shipping from Korea is, but each button would be between $4-$5.  Probably closer to the low end.

I found out that the bulb can be replaced with a 5V, meaning that you could run the bulbs with the output from a Dreamcast or Playstation 2 or whatever.  However the stock bulb is 12V.

The size of the button is pretty standard.  I believe the screw in part is 28 mm in diameter but I'll have to confirm that.  They should work in most predrilled cabinets.

The buttons sit a little higher than normal pushbuttons, but in Korea these are usually used in some puzzle/rhythm games (i.e. BishiBashi, Pop'n Music) and adult gambling cabinets (i.e. pachinko).

As for square buttons, I'm only doing round ones right now but I believe Happ has some square illuminated pushbuttons.

I'll have more pictures once I get the first test shipment in, but the pictures I have now can be found at: http://photos.yahoo.com/lseelba

I'd sure like to see some pictures of those things once they're lit up.

Yeah...like I said the pricing all depends on shipping from Korea.  I'll update here when I know more.

How much bulk are you talking about?  50+ and I can definitely get you a bulk rate.  I'll have pictures soon :)

UPDATE:
I'm getting a limited number of these from Korea as a test run.  If you want to pre-order them, the price is $3.55 per button.  This includes the button, the lamp assembly, the microswitch, and the nut.  Available colors are yellow, green, red, and blue.

Like I said, I will have a very limited number of these, so first come first serve.  I expect to receive the shipment in 10 to 15 days.  PM me or post here.

Just an FYI.  You may want to consider using a lower voltage bulb or LED in these as the bulb that comes with them runs hot enough to make the plastic expand which in turn causes the button to stick.

Are these suitable for gameplay buttons?

What kind of life cycle do the switches have?
