X-Arcade Buttons Compatible With I-PAC?
« on: June 01, 2005, 03:49:31 pm »
Hey guys, I searched for this question but could not find an answer.  I was curious if the X-Arcade Buttons will work fine with an Ultimarc I-PAC?  From what I have read, I assume they will but wanted to make sure before I order.

Also, is there a big difference between the X-Arcade buttons and the Ultimarc buttons?  Im ordering my joysticks from Ultimarc as i understand they are better then X-Arcades.  However I would like to save a little money on the buttons if possible.

A button's a button. It's just a switch.

I'm plannin on guttin an xarcade for all those black buttons.   ;D

I'm gonna hook it up to a GP-Wiz49 from www.groovygamegear.com  though the hook up is no different from an ipac.

An expensive 49-way setup ruined by x-arcade buttons makes me sad.  :'(

Yup, X-Arcade buttons are twangy because the springs tend to be loose and really clicky because they don't use cherry switches.  At least that's my non-technical way of describing it.  I used them on my first CP and then ordered some Happ buttons, which proved much better in the opinions of myself and my guests.  Now I'm still using the leftover X-Arcade buttons for administration purposes on that original CP and on my huge Multi-Williams bartop that I just built and posted over in Project Announcements--a dual 49-Way joystick setup with dual Rotary interfaces wired through Druin's that makes me happier and happier every day.  Now I must find more time for testing ;D.

Cheers,
KenToad

Thanks for the comments guys, I decided to just go ahead and order the buttons from Ultimarc.  They cost a little more, but I have put alot of work into this cab and dont want to skimp on the controls.  ;D  I just ordered all of player one controls and will order the rest when I get paid.
