WTB arcade monitors in DFW
« on: May 08, 2005, 06:39:13 pm »
I'm looking for 19" and 25" standard resolution monitors. Anybody know where to find one around here?

Are you asking what they were originally or what they got converted into? :-)

The majority are classics that got converted into lame late-80's side-scrolling fighting games.

Both I guess.  I'm always interested to see what people around here have.

Nonworking:
dedicated sit-down Sega Super Hang-On
dedicated TMNT (gutted. my future MAME machine)
dedicated Space Invaders Deluxe
2 25" monitor kit cabs
Ms Pacman converted to Street Fighter 2
Defender converted to Final Fight
Taito (green) cab
Joust converted to Golden Ax
Dig Dug converted to "I don't remember"

Working:
dedicated Off-Road
dedicated Capcom cab w/ Street Fighter Alpha 3
Galaxian converted to Kombatribes
Defender converted to Final Fight
Joust converted to Golden Ax
Dirt Fox

I'm not at home in front of them so I can't say for sure, but that list looks close to correct. Basically, the garage is full. Those that are repeated are because I actually have two. Those listed as "working" doesn't mean they're working well (like the sickly Galaxian convert).

I bought the majority of them for $100 each from an operator trying to clear out warehouse space for 8-liners. Just took a U-Haul down to Palestine, TX. That's a long time ago already, though. I'm sure he's out by now... Or threw the rest away.

So as you can see... I'm gonna be needing a LOT of monitors!  ;D

What do you see? And what Sega monitor are you referring to?

Go ahead and PM me. I'm open to the idea of a trade, depending on the trade.  :)

Yeah I realized what you meant after I posted. We'll see, but I'm honestly doubtful of any possible trade for that monsterous monitor. I simply don't have that kind of room right now.

That's the only one that's technically my brother's (not mine), but I'm pretty sure it's up for sale. If you're serious about buying it, PM an offer and I'll relay it to him.

I've got a 25 tube that needs a chasis...
I haven't tested it yet, but I was told it was good when I picked up the cab it came in.

The tube is from the machine in this thread...

It's the only part I have left from this cabinet, & I was planning on putting it to use, but as with most of the people around here, I've got too many projects & need to do a little house cleaning.

Let me know if you're interested.
I'm not a freak!...
Oh wait...
Yes I am...

Damn, KI is my all-time favorite game. If I'd known there was a machine for sale for $200 I would have bought it. I had a KI2 machine with a KI board in it at one point, but I restored it and sold it at the auction cuz I was broke.

Well I have 2 25" monitors in disrepair. I was looking for monitors to replace them. The option of fixing them is still on the table, though. I don't think I need just a tube, though.

However (just in case), how much do you want for it? You may want to PM me.
