FS: 50" Sega monitor (will work for MAME)
« on: May 04, 2005, 11:31:17 pm »
Ok, I've had this sitting around for way too long.  It looks like I am never going to get to it, so I might as well sell it.  This is a 50" Medium Res RGB monitor from a Sega Virtua Cop game.  You can see from the pics that it works for MAME and that it needs to be tweaked.  (Sorry they are dark, but I had a cheap camera.)

$100 and you pick it up in Lewisville, TX (near DFW) or arrange for shipping.  I am not hauling it anywhere again.  ;D

Note:  I was not using a JPAC to run MAME on this monitor.

hows the color on it in real life? it looks really blurry with lots of bleeds, but i'm not sure if its just the way it photographs or not. thanks.

The convergence is a bit off and the blue gun needs to have the lens cleaned (quite dusty for whatever reason).

Overall pic and a bad picture of Galaga (not sure you could really turn it on it's side).

I wish I could buy that for my DDR machine...50" machine would be really nice...I know NJ has a decent amount of stuff but DFW has it all  :'(

If my garage wasn't full, I'd probably be down there to take it off your hands. :)

Would you consider trades for other arcade stuff? My garage is full of 14 machines in various states of playability. Most are converted classics. Maybe 10 of them are negotiable.

Oooohhh... I have a sit-down Sega Hang On that doesn't work. I could hook the bike up to the massive screen!!!  :o

How do you hook up a PC to a medium-res monitor?  Powerstrip?  Also, from the looks of that Pacman screen the convergence is waaay out of adjustment.  Make sure the buyer understands it's going to take some work to get this beast usable.

50 " screens rock  ! !

*looks at Megalo 2*

and yes they do work with MAME - but I had problems getting a stable picture in Windows when using AVGA and J-Pac, BIOS and boot screen displayed okay but as soon as it jumped into Winbloze - *badoink* - lost sync

when I used a scan convertor instead of the AVGA I could get stable picture etc etc but the brightness was dim, I was going to try the video amp from ultimarc but I fitted some JAMMA boards back inside instead

Yup, still a very good deal.  If I had room for it I would probably bite.

If it wouldn't cost a fortune to ship to NC, I'd grab that :)

You know, it really is a nice drive from NC to TX.  And who couldn't use a little vacation?  ;)

The other half would kill me if I used up my vacation time to go pick up a cab from Texas :).
