I can't believe noone mentioned Puzz Loop.  It's the only game I can get my fiance to respect me for playing, what with its funky beats and flashing balls in their conga line of slow approaching inevitable doom.  Also, I built a spinner for eight bucks using a hodgepodge of the guides you can find in the faq--well worth whatever time you put into it, for the games, the ladies, or whatever.

KICK/Kick-Man was one of those "first games" I played a bit too much of when I was about 12. It used a LARGE 2-way trackball. I think part of the challenge in controlling the game was the weight of the trackball. I can see it being a little too easy to play with a Tempest style spinner. And I can say it's difficult to play with a geared spinner (Arkanoid style).

Thanks (LILWOLF) for the info on the weighted and geared spinners. Playing Tempest again is my goal, so I will definitely get a weighted one.

And this is projected towards you (WILL)!

FILTHY is it...   TREE HUGGER...you say
Well let me tell you this pal. You smell like DEA. Did you work for C.A.M.P in the early 80's. I can still hear the helicopters with the infra-red in my dreams.

First of all, this layer of filth protects my from government enginered bio-weapons.

Second, me and that tree are just good Friends. Nothing happened!
No wait, I was just relieving my self. I never hugged that tree.

I'M JUST KIDDING (WILL)! [friendly hummor]

I use my spinner quite abit for lunar lander (thank you Star Roms!),  though it is a paddle game.

Personally, I will not have a generic emulation cabinet and NOT be able to play tempest or arkanoid.

I do use the spinner to play Super Off-Road type games.  It takes a little getting use to, a steering wheel would be better.

Ya know, I was thinking. Yea its dangerous, but hear me out.

Why not mount the spinner in the front center of the cp. AND!.... find a way to stick a steering wheel to it. When not in use, one could remove the steering wheel and use the spinner. And if spinner and steering wheel is not in use, a cap can be placed over the spinner to protect it during heavy play because it would kind of be in the middle of things.
                              HAS THIS BEEN DONE?!!!
                                     AM I TRIPPING!!!?

Steering wheels allow you to add torque which would really kill a spinner.

And steering wheels have a MUCH thicker center column.   And they are usually very cheap on ebay.

Well, not exactly, Lunar Lander had directional buttons, Start, abort, and an analog throttle for Thrust.
