Analog Control/paddle for pong
« on: February 19, 2005, 10:57:45 am »
OK, so my latest project is working with the AKI, using 100K pot for paddles in pong.  I have tried to adjust sensitivity, speed, but am having no luck.  The paddle will move but, just a little, not the full screen.  Does anyone have any ideas that I might try?  Or has anyone else tried working on this?  Is the pot OK to use for a paddle?
Help is much appreciated ???

I assume you adjusted things in Mame.

Calibrate the AKI in Control Panel > Game Controllers

Thanks, to both of you for responding.  I have a problem with the AKI board itself and am working with Dave.  Once I have a working board again, I will follow up if I still have setting problems.  But could I assume that it is doable, using the AKI for the paddles in Pong?
Again thanks  :)

btw, one problem I had..

98 requires you to have a button 1 to calibrate a joystick.  Hitting next doesn't register the difference.

It took me FOREVER to figure that out.  And only found out when I went to Daves site to send him the tech question when I read a warning on his site.

It worked GREAT on the beta chip set... But when I got the latest version (that seperated the joysticks into two) I had wired all my games to just buttons on joystick one.  And I didn't rewire.  So everything worked in mame (since it didn't care) but I never tried to recalibrate my T2 control panel.... And since I didn't have a button 1 on joystick 2... it wasn't happening...

But now with a quick rewire of buttons 1 & 2 on joystick 2... All is good
