we "ALL" seem to have forgotten one minor detail..

No MAME cab is ever really finished right??  Maybe those of us using 13" monitors are only temporarily using them while we're saving up for that 52" plasma widescreen monitor

For all you guys whining about other guys cabs with small monitors--put up or shut up.  If you can do a better job than do so--putting someone down to make yourself look better is pathetic--even IF it is your sacred opinion that YOU feel you should spew to whoever walks by.  Until I see some sign of superior (or at least equal) workmanship, I consider you an armchair quarterback troll.

This topic is getting a little outta control...   I just wanted people to talk it over, just wanted some activity on the forum. I dont have to "put up or shutup" anything. I just would like all the happy boys and girls out there to experience superior video with a larger arcade monitor. I hope everyone chills out a little bit....LETS GET YOGURT, IM BUYING

i'd hate to get involved in a topic that was important:)

in my first project, i just used whatever was available at the time, and over time have upgraded to the size that was used in the original machine (so that must be OK?!)

if someone decides to build their own / convert cabinet they are probably so passionate about the subject, that screen size is the last thing on their mind. isn't the game play is the most important thing, followed by authentic control mechanism?

i always found massive screens hard to view at close range?

could viewing a massive screen further away be exactly the same as viewing a smaller screen closer up?!

i think i'll shut up now as i'm beginning to bore myself now:)

I'd hate to unveil the arcade i'm making to friends and family and people see a puny-screen. It's like unveiling a Corvette with a 4 cylinder in it

except that in all likelyhood the first corvette unveiled would have been a mock up and had NO engine in it. and then the first production models had 6 cylinder engines...

I highly suggest an arcade monitor over a TV any day. I was just proving a point that there are other cheap alternatives than a 13'' inch pc monitor.

I'm trying to do my best and saint knows that. But I'm sure as heck not afraid of him (nor would I think he'd want me to be). I see no forseeable real life consequences for my actions on the internet in any conceivable way I would behave on various internet forums.

It's not about being afraid of the big bad SiteOp.  It's about being respectful.   His house, his rules.  Do you understand that, or not?

It's not about real life consequences.  It's about being a good person.  Just because nothing's going to happen to you doesn't mean you should behave badly.  (You know you're behaving badly, or you wouldn't be thinking about whether or not there will be consequenses.)

The other times you were temporarily banned, that wasn't a punishment, wasn't intended to put a scare into you.  It was an attempt to send you a message, that your behaviour was not appreciated, and it would be appreciated if you would behave better when you came back.  Not beacause you're afraid of what might happen if you don't, just because it's nice.

Because real life is real life and this is the internet, it's self explanatory.
The internet is an extension of my thoughts. That's what I come here to do, express my thoughts. In real life I don't express every thought I have. There's a huge difference when you interact in real life then you do here. You all can deny it all you want but you know I'm right.
