I'm as confused as you. He must have the two games' PCBs in there with some kind of vector>raster converter for the Star Wars board. You'd think he'd explain things a little better.

If there is a vector->raster converter in there, I'd like to buy it just so I could meet him and kick him in the ass for using such a thing.

Maybe it has a rotating monitor - raster monitor on one side, vector monitor on the other side, mounted in some sort of giant hamster-wheel sticking out the back of the cab...

I really don't think it's anything as clever as that. I think he's just an idiot.

Missile Command came out in 1980. There's no such conversion for "Star Wars" as you all already know, UNLESS the guy is running MAME in there, and happened to have a Star Wars manual to make it seem more legit...

I was also thinking maybe "Star wars" was a Missile Command hack, since in the 80's  the Reagan admin referred to their missile defense system as "Star Wars", and Missile Command is basically a missile defense game.

I dunno. Let's ask.

Sorry, I couldn't find the 'droll acerbic sarcasm' smiley.

I read way too fast. Read your first sentence and totally missed the part about the hamster wheel.

I need to slow down my life.  :P

That was my thought exactly.  The guy actually states that it's capable of playing an alternate Star Wars game.  But I don't think he knows what Star Wars is.  I would like to know what this alternate game is, though.

It likely has the Missile Command/Super Missile Attack kit in it.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

According to KLOV, there was a bootleg of Galaxy Wars called Star Wars that predated the cool Star Wars.

I think the guy probably found that Star Wars manual sitting in the machine and made assumptions. Either that or he had the manual and decided to "mislead" people.

He has NOT replied to my question, so draw your own conclusion...

No, the other "Star Wars" is a vertical game, black and white iirc.
