I Know you guys aren't being selfish.

It never occured to me someone might use it commercially.

Again, just wondering, and I'll take this chance to say thanks again.

Yep, I fixed that, but I've said that I'm half way through a couple of other changes that I want to finish before releasing.  If you want to get around it in the meantime, untick the 'Restore Queue When Loading Program' or whatever I called it.

FANTASTIC!  That's almost as good as being fixed for me!  Thanks a million!

hmm...it appears that if you check those same 2 boxes I mentioned before it goes berzerk in Random mode and starts picking songs from other genres and eventually crashes.  Even though it shows the next song it's going to play will be from a different genre, if it doesn't crash, it will play another song from the correct genre.  but it will eventually crash.

So I changed it back and now it shows the next track will be the current.  I don't care about that, but I thought you should know.

still a great program.  :)

If you can reproduce the error, post the full message here so I can figure it out.  I don't recall changing any of that functionality, so I don't really know what could be going wrong.

You're a God among men sir!

the Crashing seems to be gone..the only problem now is (for example) it says the next song will be 0706 Box - but the next song actually is...1901 5 Year Itch

Now that 1901- "5 Year Itch" is playing it says the next track will be 1901 "giving up on love" - but its actually...3614 - "Whoops I OD'd"

Now that 3614 "whoops I OD'd" is playing it says the next track will be 3614 "The Innocent"

"the Innocent" should be 2814

I can't find any rhyme or reason as to where it's getting the title of the song.

It says the current track NUMBER is the next one in the play list, it randomly grabs a title from the (correct/current) genre. then it skips to a completly random track....

odd, eh?

So, just to clarify, the track NUMBER is correct, but the title is not?  That seems to be what you're saying, so I assume that's right!  I can't see any reason for this to happen, though   ???

I also found a small issue with that mode of viewing the queue : I added 'click to remove the item from the queue', but it does not work correctly with the track names showing rather than the track numbers. (Note, I have fixed this problem now, but will try & sort out this other issue you're having before putting out an update)

Also note, that the first item in the queue is the currently playing song, NOT the next song.

Oops..I thought it would show the next track....

So then yes, you're right, the number is correct but the title is wrong.  Seems redundant to have it over there though...it's already on the right of the screen in a larger font  ;)

So I guess it's good to go!  :D

Thanks!

no, under track list it shows the current track followed by a random title that won't be the next song played.  ???

Allroy

As I said (in my edited post, so you may have entered this when I was editing), the item that is appearing in the queue is the CURRENT song.  It does not pick a random song until it gets to the end of the current one, see that there's nothing in the queue, and sees that it's in random mode.

So, it looks like to me that the song NUMBER is correct, it's just getting the song title from somewhere else.   ???

DOH!  I just noticed that the current track is "innocent girl" but over there it shows "mistress for christmas" from a different genre.

I say just get rid of that display over there because it shows properly on the right..to the right of the Small album or wave file etc....but that's me.  :)

Holy crap!  it's worse than I thought...It's not just the current track that's wrong.

I just added (manually obviously) 3 more tracks and all 3 of them have the right track number but they've ALL got the wrong Title.  ???
confusing...

What happens when you queue up tracks manually?  Does it add the right title to the list?  There should be absolutly no difference between them, but I want to make sure.  I cannot fault it here, unfortunatly.

As for getting rid of the info on the left, let's get this right first!  When that's working, I'll look at adding an 'exclude current song from queue' option.   ;)

allroy1975 & I took the issue into PM's, so we weren't clogging up the board.  Turns out it was simply me not updating the page correctly, as it was still pointing to the 2.5.0 update, not 2.5.1   ::) :-[ :'(   ;D

OK I have tried everything to install this, I have installed it on my main Computer perfectly fine.  I go to install on my Cabinet and everytime it hangs when it gets to installing the file: amp3dj.ocx  I've got the VB runtimes installed from the site. and have tried everything under the sun to get this to work on the arcade system.  Both systems run the same OS windows XP, so I'm truly at a loss here.  Other than that this program rocks and does everything I'd want and more.  If anyone knows a trick let me know.

hmmmm...it shouldn't be a problem, AFAIK.

You could try searching your PC to see if that file already exists.  Does the installer hang truly, or will it continue / give a message if you let it go for a few seconds?

Other than that, the help for that control DOES mention OLEAUT32.DLL & OLEPRO32.DLL as being potential problems, but the VB runtime package should contain the right versions of those (the file comes from MS, I didn't create it).

Failing all of that, let me know and I could put together an installer that doesn't try & register that control, in case that gets around it.  The program may then crash, however, but it might point us to the full issue.

so OLEPRO32.DLL is version 5.1.2600.2180
and OLEPRO32.DLL is version 5.1.2600.2180
I thought it may just be taking a while to register everything, but I let it sit for more than an hour, it doesn't get any further than Extract: amp3dj.ocx 100%, I even tried copying over all the files in the Directory on the computer it works on, but I'm thinking some other files also have to be registered... I could maybe try registering with the regserv32 command.  I can try installing with out registering the activeX controller, and see if it continues on or not.

Couple of things :

Are you logged in with administrator rights?  If not, perhaps something is getting stuck when trying to register.

If that's not it, I have created a new installer that simply skips the registering of that file.  Now, it is the first file in the list, so perhaps it's going to get stuck on the file after this one :

http://www.mameworld.net/skjukebox/install/SKJukeboxInstall-rgecko.zip

If you have the file there, definately try registering it manually with regsvr32.  It will probably point to a deeper issue (like admin rights, etc).  Simply copying over the directory from your other PC should work (i.e no need to run the installer after that, just copy the lot), with a handful of regsvr32 calls.

Yup this users is set as Admin... I also tried creating a new user with Admin privileges to install it.  That user also fails at the same point.  Also WindowsXP Pro (don't think I mentioned Pro Earlier)

the new installer installs OK with on error: during install it extracts ImagXpr6.dll but then says "Could not load: C: Program Files\SK Jukebox\ImagXpr6.dll" everything else seems to register OK.  Allthough I can manually register this dll. the amp3dj.ocx control won't register manually either, it just seems to hang and regsvr32 stays in Task Manager

Also tried running the original Install program as Administrator, and that also fails.

Acutally, another look at the help mentions FOUR files (I've already mentioned 2 of them) :

WINMM.DLL
MSACM32.DLL
OLEAUT32.DLL
OLEPRO32.DLL

I know the ones on my PC work fine, so I've zipped up my copies & put them here :

http://www.mameworld.net/skjukebox/install/rgecko-dlls.zip

Don't overwrite them straight away, though, just check if you have different versions.  Make a copy of any that you need to overwrite.  Other than that, I'm out of ideas!   ???

Dear Salmonking, congratulations and thank you very much for the great jukebox software SK.

I have just one suggestion for now:

When we press jump button, a small screen open with the letter "A", it would be possible pressing a letter and it jump to this letter?

Thanks.

You know, I thought the same thing just the other day!

I'll add it to the list to add an option to use whatever letter you press (will only go 1 - 9 and A - Z, but I think that should be acceptable!)

Am I missing something or is this not skinnable/tinker-able?

The lower section where the song selection area is located is too large for me, and making it smaller would allow more songs to be displayed in each area.

If I could tinker with this myself, I'd dig it, but I just don't see it somewhere.  Can you open my eyes?  I think I've been at this too long today with my mind on other subjects ::)

Yeah, I tried that but it didn't let me change what I wanted to change.

The area under the album "pages" is way too fat for my taste and if I can skin it, I can change that to be a bit thinner.  That way, album art could be either enlarged, or the text for longer song titles could be moved to the left allowing it to fit.

Thanks for the suggestion though.  I'm giving up for today....on every program :P and gonna get some sleep.  Tomorrow's another day for frustration

Does anyone know how to print a list of directories that don't have cover art?  maybe an Excel macro or something?

Be cool if SK could output a file or something.

Thanks, Art

If you have WinCab jukebox handy, run it with DebugLevel set to 3 and you'll get a debug log that has the information you're looking for.

Of course, this only helps if WinCab and SK Jukebox use the same rules to find cover art, so now that I think about it this probably isn't helpful.
Ah.. I found SK Jukebox's rules earlier in the thread.

Thanks Chris.  I downloaded your latest update over the weekend.  I really like the CD Skin.  I can look for just those errors.  THANKS again.

Does anyone know how to print a list of directories that don't have cover art?

If Chris' solution doesn't work, I can put together some sort of excel macro to do this type of thing, but it will be a couple days until I can get to it.

Be cool if SK could output a file or something.

Thanks, Art

I have little features like that in the program already, just don't have them active in a release version  ;)

I might add something for the next version.  My version also lists anything that is not 500 * 500 (my preference), so that comes in handy.  If I make it available for everyone, I would make that settable, of course.

What would you want to make it smaller?

That area of the screen is not resizable for a reason, and that's because it's VERY fiddly, and would be a little bit of a nitemare to make it resize dynamically.  That's why I asked the question I did....if you say 'I don't need the Paused / Random / Credits information', I could make the program remove those bits of information and resize the box accordingly.  Also, I would need to remove a line in the song queue listing.

SK.
