Sound problems with 0.86?
« on: October 13, 2004, 12:53:10 am »
I've noticed that some games (like City Connection) have no sound.  Then I loaded up 0.71 and City Connection had sound.  Any one see anything like this?  Is there anything I can do besides alternatiing MAME vers. to play certain games?
Dumb questions deserve dumb answers.

Make sure you're using the matching/updated ROMS.

Are you using Mame32 for Windows?   There is a bug in the latest versions of Mame32 where games will work normally, but as you play in a session and swap between games in the interface there will come a point when the sounds goes off. The only way around it is to come out of Mame32 altogether and go back in. This bug is documented on the Mame32 official site and they are no doubt working on it.
