  • I'm a llama!
i decided to replace my blown 27" foreign monitor with the WG 9200.

the old monitor was connected with 5 wires (no VGA input) through a j-pac unit.

since the WG has a VGA input built-in, can i bypass the jpac and plug straight into the VGA output of my arcadeVGA card and still retain proper output of the entire range of arcade frequencies as i did before?  or is it a better idea to connect the arcadeVGA to the j-pac and rewire straight to the monitor board from the j-pac, and not use the WG vga inut?

thanks.

/patrick

I believe it would be best to connect directly to avga card.  This way with the d9200 drivers, you can take advantage of the non-interlaced 640x480 that the d9200 is capable of.

thanks, i'm hoping you are correct.  i'd really like to NOT have to wire this in directly and risk blowing it up :)

can anybody with this setup confirm this is right?

isnt the voltage output of the Arcade VGA too low to drive monitor.  thats what the Video amp is for in the JPAC isnt it? to bring a PC VGA voltage up to a level a monitor can work with.
id direct this question to ultimarc before you go doing anything..
and id like to know your results as i am going with a jpac and arc-vga myself.

don't need a video amp for the d9200 (at least for the vga connector input...don't know about the other)  You can run the d9200 off any video card directly.

ah,
the D9200 specs 2.2 volts for the cga/ega connector..
the VG only required .7 volts
