Sounds good to me, I always wire stuff right to the PSU via butt connectors.
Make them removable by using male molex headers.
Wiring 12v fans to the 5v line makes for very quiet cooling too.
(logically you'd want to double the number of fans if they are running at half voltage)
For those reading this post who don't know : the yellow wire on your computer power supply molex (4 pin) header is 12volts, the red line is 5volts. Black is ground.
The color scheme on fans, however, changes, the fans in a computer typically have red wires for 12volt, yellow for sensor, and black for ground.
