Crazy Kong Junior (PICTURES ADDED)

Funny thing, there are a lot of people that I have come across in my dealings, that like/remember Crazy Kong more than the original DK.  You could do that coolio cheat in CK that you couldn't in the original, and these things get their own subculture/following.  Don't dismiss the clones so easily.

The bowling alley with arcade games nearest to me as a kid had Jungle Hunt, so I still always see that one as the "real" one (versus Jungle King).  Heck, the local resturant had a Crazy Kong, and even though I view it as a bootleg, I still have more sentimental attachment to CK than DK.

I'm curious if all that pink used to be RED. Sunlight can wreak havoc on red dyes and paints...

And DUMP THE ROMS. There's nothing to "think about".

I remember playing that machine...well, one very much like it...as I recall it was ugly and pink...ahh, fond memories! Seriousl, that's one unique cab. i don't believe its a conversion...but I have been wrong once or twice. Great Find!!!

I have been trying to get more information on Crazy Kong and Crazy Kong Junior, and it turns out that it isn't a bootleg, it was actually licenced by Falcon legally. Even though it is still a clone of Donkey Kong, it was much more popular in the UK then Donkey Kong. Since Donkey Kong wasn't really distributed to Europe, Falcon was the only legal distributor of a Donkey Kong clone. Infact, there were many bootlegs of Crazy Kong like

The main reasons why Crazy Kong Junior is so rare is because Falcon didn't make as many Crazy Kong Juniors as Crazy Kongs. I bet if you lived in the UK, you would be able to find plenty of Crazy Kongs still lying around but I doubt you would still see Juniors. The fact that a dominantly European distributed arcade, that is so rare, made it to America and is still in decent shape is another reason for it's rarity. The main reason this particular cabinet is rare is because of the marquee.  Only a handful of marquees of Crazy Kong Junior just say "Crazy Junior" like this one. All of these add up, making this one rare cabinet.

I personally was not a fan of Donkey Kong Junior, so me keeping this cabinet isn't worth it and I would rather see it in the hands of a collector.
