That Zuma like arcade game that was mentioned in this thread earlier on, I think it is called Puzz Loop.  If you like Zuma, you'll like that game.

For some odd reason, she is constantly playing Super Mini Gem Fighter (a cute version of street fighter)  

Does that require a full 6-button Street Fighter layout?

My wife likes anything involving the light guns.

My Sister likes Vs. DR. Mario, Frogger, Toobin, Bump 'n Jump, Gauntlet II, Asteroids, Mario Bros, and Joust.  She will play Arch Rivals with me just to punch the other players.  She won't shoot though  Same with some hockey games, she will just go around checking.
My ex-roommate's GF loved Bubble Bobble, Puzzle Bobble, Frogger.

I'd suggest puzzle games, tons of them in mame.  Qix might be a good one to try.  I think ther is a jezball type game too.

Depending on the era you were brought up in maybe she would like sexy reaction  Actually, if you turn off the pr0n part of many of those mature puzzle games they are good puzzle games.  Many have dipswitches to turn off the pr0n.

I managed to convince my wife to have the cocktail in the family room by running Galaga and Galaxian.

I managed to convince her to have the upright in the family room by running Wonderboy.

She also likes Bubble Bobble.

My daughter prefers the SMS games that she remembers as a child, Alex Kidd and Sonic.

SO yeah, some generalisations based on the responses in this thread
puzzle games = great
Most classics = great
cute / novelty games = OK
newer shoot em ups (raiden, etc etc) = not so much
fighters = not so much, some exceptions
beat em ups = not so much, except golden axe for some reason?
driving games = nope

I think the wife's new favorite is Puzz Loop. It used to be the standard Puzzle Bobble. But even I enjoy playing Puzz Loop with her every night.

I've tried getting her to play a few other games, but it's one of those things that if I try to get her to like it she will hate it.  I have to sneakily get her to play it thinking she found it on her own.
