Rotary T-Stik Plus? DEFINITELY!!! (UPDATE: 6-3-04)
« on: April 22, 2004, 05:05:00 pm »
(UPDATE: 6-3-04)(Please note: I figured it out, here's the How-To: http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=10;action=display;threadid=20018

Would it be possible to add/hack a rotary function (optical?) to a T-Stik Plus?

If it's even feasible, it might not be ideal, but I'd LOVE to have an all-in-one solution for 4-way/8-way/rotary games. I love Ikari, etc.. but I just can't justify the extra room on the CP.

I don't think you would be able hack a T-Slik to a rotary.

Make your panel modular.  As that will probably be the best way to add everything your looking for.

Search the forum, as this was discussed last week.

I don't think it's gonna happen...the shaft would have to be longer for the encoder wheel to attach to.  Probably more hassle than it's worth even trying  :(

After seeing how the wico rotaries are made I think it would be possible.  The wicos are a mechanical rotary joystick, they have a 12 position switch that is held in place with a bracket.  I don't have any pictures since I sold the ones I had already but bet you could hack something together.

Thanks for pointing out the Wicos. I'm off to find pictures.

I've seen a lot of things on this board that people said couldn't be done...and just as many things (if not more) that were not worth the hassle, so you never know.
 ;D

I'm not giving up just yet.

Here's a guy that hack an Ultimate and created his own rotary. Don't know if it applies to my quest, but it's interesting enough.

Very true!  If you do manage it, be sure to post a how-to :)

Not a bad little hack...but I imagine the spin would be rather "Loose" since there isn't any kind of restrictor that would keep it from spinning
