replacement ball for Ultimarc trackball
« on: March 10, 2004, 02:42:57 am »
I bought a trackball from Ultimarc and I'm quite happy with it. Now I'm in the process of theming my cab I found that a blue trackball would look nicer.

What can you recommend as replacement for the ball? Is a billiard ball the same size? Is there anything I should keep in mind? Thanks!

Assuming it's the 2-1/4" Ultimarc trackball (I think they all are, but just to be safe), then yes, a billiard ball will work.  or www.therealbobroberts.com sells blue replacement balls for $13.00 or translucent blue for $15.  or see about 10 threads down about the UV reactive acrylic juggling balls that could be used also.

I bought one of those and ended up buying a 2 1/4" translucent red ball from happs - they are there, you just have to plunk around a while to find the part number to enter into the shopping cart...  I think it was $15...  nice color and translucency tho.

Also you might want to take a look at Acrylic Juggling balls.  They come in alot more colors, for instance I have a 3" blue UV ball - AWESOME STUFF.  Alittle more expensive tho but worth it if you want to match your cab.

Google search for Acrylic juggling contact colored
you'll find a mess of them.

Also, check out Bob Roberts.  He has the colors there and is usually cheaper overall than Happs.
